Tick tick tick

Greetings on New Years Eve from Miami! I wish for everyone to get their heart's desire and to find what you have always yearned for and need. I wish for properity for all of us and peaceful, healthier existence for many years to come. So I hear at 11:59 PM they will add a second to the national time because of leap year? How in the world does that work? I hear its like a leap year only shorter - ah DUH. Ok happy extra second folks!

It just won't go away

The cold that won't go away is still here. I was hoping leaving early from work and doing more resting at home and pretty much early sleep would help it but at some key moments it seemed to kick the coughing into high gear. Then coming in to work this morning was just a repeat experience. As I am walking in I am thinking why am I here. But since I am here lets go to the ladies room and regroup. I did and the nasty calmed down and here I am. How long will it last? Who knows...

One thing I have noticed about this time of year I don't like is that TV is so boring! ARGG. I do not particularly like watching reruns and thats all there is right now until January. Yes I know I can handle another week or so till the shows return but it just seems forever. Happily daytime soaps do not fall into that repeat mode.

While much of the country is going through some horrible weather and very wicked conditions we are fortunate not to be experiencing those. Right now we are in the mid 60's and it will creep up a little higher as the day gets stronger. The sun is out I heard some birds singing this morning (most likely they were plotting against my Paradise cat).
Now you may wonder how does Miami celebrate the New Year? After all NYC has the Big Apple and that great big ball well wonder no more...

Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida throws a big party to ring in the new year. The shindig includes a free concert for all attendees and a "Disco Dance Party". But the most important part of the night is the "Big Orange" on the side of the Hotel Intercontinental. Unlike the ball in Times Square, the "Big Orange" does not drop but it rises until it reaches its highest point at midnight. A fireworks display also accompanies the celebrations at midnight.
Yeah thats a picture of the Big Orange - pretty wild I will admit. I will not be out there I will be in my safe home watching it on TV. There was a time I would go out and party like a rock star but now a days with people driving crazier then ever and the police in full force waiting to stop people for just looking like they have had too much I feel it is just wise to stay in and out of the way. I would make it a Martini night but this silly flu may have other plans.
Either way Happy New Year.. and...

2009 almost here

The flu that refused to go away is slowly going away. Some moments are better then others. The nights seem to be the worse. I guess that is when your defenses go down and the worse comes out. Trust me there has been tons of visualizations and if I could tell you what I was visualizing happening to that nasty bug inside me well it would not be very peaceful and full of joy. Needless to say I did report to work this fine lovely Monday. It is quiet right now and the parking lot was pretty bare lets hope it stays this way the whole day. If I can manage to sneak out early I will but who knows one hour at a time.

I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by. I am looking forward to 2009 I must keep thinking that better times are ahead.

This picture here is a picture of this angel my friends and I ran in to the last time we had a Girls Night Out and went to Coconut Grove. She was out there waving at people and just being well angelic.

Another Holiday gone

Yes Christmas is now a day of the past. I wish I could say it was fabulous and on some level it actually was pretty cool but on the 23rd I started getting attacked by this nasty cough by the time I woke up on the 24th it was full-blown nasty, I won't go into the details but you know what goes with an ugly cold. Yeah I had it all. NyQuil was close by and plenty of Tea and Honey on hand. Needless to say this did not stop my family house traveling plans. I managed to go to not one but 2 family members homes. On the last stop I medicated myself with a couple yes a couple glasses of Chardonnay and let me tell you it worked for the night. I slept so nicely. I was able to lay in bed most of the next day (Christmas). I slept for a bunch of hours that day. Woke up and found I had a super fabulous gift(s) of a journal and a book on how to write your spiritual journal along with some Doreen CDs. All was good I just wished my head was cleared so I could totally rock with it. Thats ok all in due time. I went to family's house for a great Christmas dinner. I would of normally ate more then I actually did but the tummy turning told me not to. But oh boy did it taste good. Ok so here I am the day after Christmas and the cough is still there. The chest is gross but I actually do not feel like sleeping for most of the year. Prior to getting up I decided to meditate and talk to my spirit. I realized I had wished so many people a happy holiday and never did wish that to my guides, silly me must be the cold. So I did and I felt this light as I sat there with my eyes closed it was pretty darn cool. To see/feel light in a dark room totally awesome. So this led me to do some healing on the cold and just tell it look its time to go so you can go now. Hopefully it will go! I am sure it will.

In the meantime it's Friday and I am not working yee pee!

Have a great end of the year!

Xmas in Miami

The blessed week is about to begin. I have to say some part of me wishes it was all over. It's different every year for me some years are fabulous and other years are like oh hurry up and end already and right now its the hurry up and end already. I find myself loving it at moments and then wishing it was over all in a matter of days. I am looking forward to the upcoming Holidays because they will have family and friends in it and those generally tend to lift my spirits and perhaps thats more it that the spirit needs some lifting. Perhaps feeding the spirit like we feed our bodies is the way to approach this. This means a more concentrated meditating. Yeah I can do that. Looking more at nature and seeing the beauty around here after all I am fortunate enough not to be living in an area where people are finding hardships because of the weather. I tend to sometimes put down the warm weather we have like all the time. I see shows this time of year and all you see is snow and the coats and stuff and I think man I wish that was me. Then I get blue because it is not. Like this weekend there was a movie on Lifetime and it was one of those feel good Christmas movies but one of the main characters made a comment that I just thought oh bah humbug. The movie was set in California and the family was heading to "The beach house" for Christmas and the main character went "Oh the beach for Christmas there is just something wrong with that." Well Ok hello some of us that live in Miami have no choice but to have the beach for Christmas. But then they show her walking on the beach with a sweater and hat on it is like OH grow up. Yeah I thought that and then changed the channel. I wish I was creative enough to write a song about Christmas in Miami but I am not so the hopes is that maybe someone one day will.

Until then

Tis the season

Tis the season to think about the wonderful things we have learned this year. 2008 has been an emotional year for me ups and downs. Soul Coaching has taught me to get a grip so to speak. My newly spiritual friends and their writings have given me really good advice on spiritual awakening. Some days are better then others but, isn't that the way it always is in life? I see the Dolphin swimming in my dreams and I think yeah let me keep the focus. I have a contract on my mom's house (finally!) and get this - it looks good! So far all is going OK. It is not a lot of money but right now it is part of closure and moving on.
I am looking forward to 2009 and the new adventures of Peace. Hopefully the house will sell and I can close that portion of my life and begin a new one. I am slated to become Exalted Ruler of my Elks Lodge - unless I quit because of some dignitaries and their politics. Several Elk trips planned. A visit to Portland Oregon in that list of trips. My friends in the UK oh no wait by then it may be their new place in Wales keep asking when will I return. I am not sure if that will be in 2009 because I think they are planning a trip down here but most likely in 2010. The work place is busy - very happy about that in these trying economic times. I may look at searching more deeply into the meditating or even some chakra therapy. Maybe even some smudging but that is all a work in progress. And yes at some point create the sacred place and start actually writing the mystery book instead of just creating my characters on paper.

Does that seem like a lot for a new year? Not sure if it will all work out...

The Dolphins

You know how things just come together in weird wonderful ways. The Dolphin is it. I have been on a spiritual journey to get more in touch with my spiritual soul - hence Soul Coaching and now the Dolphin. This morning I saw a really nice story on Good Morning America. It was a video moment these guys captured of hundreds of Dolphins stampeding yes they said stampeding! The video just looked awesome. And I thought wow how super cool to watch that. Well yesterday I was talking with a good friend of mine and we were just talking about things that lift our spirits. I told her how I realized water lifts my spirits while some people take showers to relax it energizes me. I do not like roller coasters but I love water rides especially if I get wet. Then in jest I went maybe I was a mermaid in a past life and she goes or a really cool fish and I went yeah like a Dolphin. Then I wake up this morning see that fabulous story. I turn my computer on to check my emails and I see this email story from Beliefnet called Inspiration and Hope from The Dolphin.

So I read the story and here is some of it.

"The Dolphin" is an enchanting tale of courage, and rising above fears and limits. A lonely dolphin named Daniel Alexander Dolphin sets out to fulfill his destiny and learns that to achieve his goals he must not only act, but dream, and not only plan, but believe. The wisdom he acquires can inspire we humans as well:

"There comes a time in life when there is nothing else to doubt to go your own way. A time to follow your dreams. A time to raise the sails of your own beliefs."

Excerpted from The Dolphin: Story of a Dreamer (Hay House, 2008), by Sergio F. Bambaren.

So now I am thinking wow a message is being presented. And since part of my meditation includes talking to my spirit and telling them that I am open to messages I had to take this as a sign. So my next step is to see what the symbol Dolphin means so I went to my dream symbol website http://www.dreammoods.com/ and looked up Dolphins and here is what it said:

To see a dolphin in your dream, symbolizes spiritual guidance, your intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.

So is this just not too cool? I think it is!

In closing I would like to say this means that the Miami Dolphins are going to beat the NY Jets.

Warm times in Miami

Greetings from warm Miami. It's in the 70's still. It has actually been rather cool between 50's and 60's and that was nice. Saturday Night I went with a girlfriend out to South Beach and we went to Lincoln Road Mall. If you love to people watch this is the place my friends. We went to dinner at this outdoor cafe called Soprano's Cafe where if you purchase 2 entrees you get a free bottle of wine - hum NOT BAD! The food was great. I had a nice Chicken breast with spinach and cheese with wine sauce. The breast was full and juicy and it just filled me up big time. I suppose the wine helped in that. Then after we ate we walked around and ended up at Ghirardelli - Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop on the corner of Lincoln Road Mall and Meridian. Oh yeah fabulous spot. We decided this was the perfect place for people watching. So we sat down and started with some root beer floats, and capuccino followed by green and black tea. Needless to say 3 1/2 hours flew by! The sights are great. You see people just having a fun time. A concert ended at a nearby theatre and people were leaving and it was just fun to see the crowds all bundled and laughing. I say bundle because by this time it was like high 50's and we here in Miami almost stop when it gets that cold. The ended with a ride through Coconut Grove on the way back home. That is always an interesting sight - even at 1:00 in the morning.

The holidays are fastly approaching and emotions are running high everywhere I look. The spirit of Christmas always tends to fill people in many different ways and its a constant challenge and reminder to try to hold on to your spirit.

Tonight I go to the Moose for a meeting followed by a Holiday get together and gift exchange game. It is mainly for the fun more then the gift. Tomorrow night another party at Elks Lodge on Sunset Blvd. Thursday is "up in the air". I am scheduled to go to my Elks Lodge for a Gate Program Graduation ceremony however I am being tempted to stop by the Sunset Elks Lodge for a party there. No I do not believe I can do both because I do still have to work the following day and would like to get home by 11:00 PM. But it will be nice to see friends there that I enjoy spending time with. Friday oh let me think what do I have planned Friday? Oh YES ER Egg Nog party at MY Elks Lodge! This daily visit of Elks Lodge is going to have to stop soon...well maybe... I am sort of getting disenchanted with the politics certain high dignitaries are doing and it may make me pull out. But that's a whole other venting session.

I wish for everyone to have a pleasant and super holiday. Look around you and give thanks to the universe for allowing you to be there. I have had the pleasure of reading and talking to so many new people this year who have made my spiritual journey so much more easier. I am so lucky to have met them because they have inspired me to but pen to paper or in this case keyboard in motion on that book. I can feel the air of mystery around me.

Love and Light

It's a nice morning today. I woke to 71 degree weather and this has been a nice trend for the last couple weeks. I so love it. So much better then the hot sticky days we get. We the weather goes to the 80's its kind of yucky.

Last night was a nice relaxing night at home no Lodge Meeting just plain being at home catching up on my Facebook and playing a little poker followed by watching Hereos and Boston Legal finale. I am not sure if you watch Boston Legal but I follow it on and off I always liked the character James Spater plays. The ending was a total riot. Only Boston Legal can come up with a totally funny way to end it.

I know there is stuff tonight but for the life of me I cannot remember it right now. No worries I will know tonight if not Direct TV DVR will know it for me.

The meditations are working I am remembering my dreams which are basically funny silly dreams basically made up of whatever I was watching on TV or having interactions with. Whats even funnier is in some dreams I knew I was dreaming so I had some fun with it. I am going to practice sending healing and light to friends far away. I just got an email from a friend in the UK one of the friends we hung out with had a terrible accident on their land. They were getting some hay stacks and a couple of the stacks fell hard on her before she could move out of the way well long story short she broke her leg in 2 places. She was out in the middle of the land with no one around except for her cell phone so she called emergency and they had to fly her to the hospital in a helicopter. Having had a friend who had a broken leg I know the hardship and pain the poor lady is going through. So tonight's exercise is send love and light and some healing.

Life at work has been busy these days I do not generally dislike busy days because it just makes the days go by so much faster and currently I am learning a new area of the department so it's kind of cool.

That is about it for now the week is only just beginning so who knows what may develop.

Stay tune.

Something

Oh boy almost a whole week since my last post. It feels like a windstorm came and blew me away. Work has been a very busy week and when it rains it pours. Then I could not think of what to write and the subject of "anything" just did not seem appealing after all I never was a watcher of Seinfeld. This week we have what should be a pretty some what full week. Well sort of it is Monday so things are always subject to change. Tonight should be a nice night in. Tomorrow a Moose Meeting. Wednesday an Elks Meeting, Thursday is free, Friday is Lodge Night for Friday Night Dinner and the Holiday Party at work. Yee Pee. I am sure during this week my boss will finally annouce when she is taking all of out to lunch. I suspect that it will be this week since I happen to know she is off next week. Oh no wait she is here next week ok she will either do it Wednesday of next week or one day this week. I am very good at sneaking in and reading her schedule and so I like to pretend to be Nancy Drew and guess when.

Desperate Housewives was on last night and I am so glad Carlos finally got his sight back! Ok now he needs to do whatever it was he was doing before and get his mega money back I like the selfish Gucci clothing wearing Gabby. I still do not know why Edi's killer-husband lied and pointed the finger at Porter. He has no grief against Porter or his family. But he is a psycho so who knows.

The giving holidays are right around the corner I hope everyone is thinking about what they have in their lives thanking the Universe. I am going to concentrate on gratitude and be a little more aware of the nature around me.

Take care everyone. Peace

We survived!

Yes we all survived the Holiday Visit from our very special Sarge ( Short for Sargent Schultz). Max and Paradise Cat were not amused but they learned adjust. Paradise found her spot on a high chair where she took her naps and as long as Sarge did not bother her she was fine. Max was special. He had moments where he was "a very brave cat." He ventured out and of course Sarge is all about the chase. He does not really care to hurt them he just likes to chase them so if he barks and they run he takes it as oh this is fun. Overall the 3 kids were fun and nice and Sarge is just such a cutie! When you meet him he insists on being greeted you best greet him otherwise he will get upset. Once you greet him he is a happy little boy. He also is very attached to daddy dearest. Could it be because dad spoils, hugs, and kisses him constantly? Hum - maybe. But I have to admit I found myself doing the same thing.
The holidays were fun filled with family and friends. Tons of turkey and I for one love it. Next stop Christmas. I think I am going to make myself a promise I will start on that mystery novel I have been wanting to do. I do have my note book for notes and there are notes in there now I just have to start. I think I just need to not worry about the plot and just begin writing and see what happens most of the time I just start writing and out comes stuff. Lets see how that goes.
I hope everyone had a wonderful week. I hope you all continue to have a great week, month and upcoming new year. Still working on the scared space I can see it in my head just need to get it in the physical form. But the meditation and visualizations are going strong.
Stay tune..

Happy Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

So far I have to say it has been great! Tomorrow (Friday) at 6:30 PM there is a tentative get together at my South Miami Coral Gables Elks Lodge for drinks. I want friends to meet my father in law bascially because this man is awesome and I love the heck out of him so I want to shore.

Since dad has been here we have had a nice time. On Friday I am "hoping" to get in touch with my BFF Janis and ask her about the Outpost. We would like to take dad there for a different trip. I would like it to be impressive so I am hoping my BFF who is on the board of directors can "hook us up."

Now my friends I hope you all are having a nice holiday. The week has been for me emotionally full of ups and downs. When I am/was in the down I do have techniques to improve my mood but my friends I am ready to admit that Monday was a "super blue day" yes this means Monday was so blue my mediation did not help but I am happy to report all is good now! Not sure why I was just feeling like I was so not worthy. Lucky for me all is good now.

Please have a great holiday and stop for a moment and look around and say "Thank you"

Tuesday is today

I know it has been a little while since my posting and it may be a little while longer. Dad comes to town today and I am so very thrilled about it! I plan on making his stay enjoyable and with him comes Sarge the cutiest sweetest dog you have ever met. He barks but thats only if you don't talk to him because he likes people to talk to him so once you talk and pet him he is well like a kitty cat? Oh no did I say that? Ok like a puppy dog. Now my 2 cats Paradise and Max have no idea that their happy existence is once again going to be changed. The cats do not like each other but they have one thing in common they surely do not like dogs. Paradise seems to handle it well. She goes to a corner spot and sleeps there and is like look dog you stay away from me I stay away from you. Max oh my sweet Max he tends to not do the quiet sit down and wait because eventually the dog will leave bit. Instead he hisses and moans which just makes Sarge that much more excited and decides he wants to chase Max. Yeah it's fun my poor baby.

So over the weekend I went to see Twilight and wow it was pretty cool. For the most part it stayed with the book except they added some stuff and well changed some stuff. Some portions I would of liked to see it played out instead they chose to by pass it and there was a significant piece of information at the end they did not go into and I wish they would of. It had to do with Alice and her background. I can understand why they did not because they did not address it in the beginning so it would of looked weird if they did in the end. But thats just my opinion.

I also finished New Moon! It was interesting. I saw interesting because I found myself wishing to go more into the Cullens family and yeah Edward. Instead Stephanie Meyer focused more on Jacob and his background. Edward does make an appearance but mainly at the end. I just started Eclipse. No opinion just yet I am only on Chapter 3 or is it 4? You get the picture too early to tell yet.

Last night was Part one of the DWTS Finale. It was pretty good. Brooke shined again. She is good that is for sure. Lance I think did "ok". I thought he could of done better and Warren is fun to watch and I am amazed at how light on his feet he is. I still believe Brooke will win it her free style dance was amazing.

I hope everyone has a truly magical Holiday. Lets me thankful for the loved ones we have near by us. Loved ones do not necessarily have to be family members but friends too. I am blessed to have both nearby. If you have a nice full dinner table be happy and thankful for the blessing. Look up to sky and thank your lucky stars.

I am still loving it

Yes I am still loving the weather. This is a nice treat for the city we do not normally get this cold weather for like 5 no 6 days in a row! Having this weather makes it really nice to watch how people react to the cold. I have co-workers that totally hate it. The negative comes out and they complain about how long will it last and it needs to go away. I try to offset the negative by telling them that not to worry it will be gone before we know it and that they normal heated weather will return to look at it as a fresh renewed beginning. Ok imagine how that type of positive outlook goes when you are just negative and refuse to get out of your box? Yeah not far. So to them I just say sorry I wish you well tootles. Then there are others that are just a pleasure to see. They embrace it and take it as a sign to break out that leather jacket they had in the back closet. The air smells clean and fresh makes you shake and shaking it good because it lets your insides know stuff in happening. Then there are those that just take it to a level that is just plain funny. I think of the Northern clients I talk to and imagine them smiling at us. Some folks go all out and dress to the nines in this weather! I mean the leather jackets, the scarf around the neck, the knee high boots and wraps. We don't do hats here in Miami unless its a baseball cap sorry thats a Northern thing. But these folks feel the cold and go OK time to have fun and pretend it's colder then it is. Yeah guys enjoy it.

Last night my husband and I went to dinner at this French restaurant Le P'tit Paris located in Coconut Grove. It was located in the heart of the Grove and we sat outside. The weather was perfect for it. The food was good. We had some Goat Cheese crepes, Humus, Beef Steak, and Mustard Chicken. No dessert we were full after all that. I sat there and watched the people walk by and see all the different types of weather lovers/haters. The embracers I just loved to watch. They had smiles and some had that serious city life stare. It was just truly nice to see all the different personalities.

Afterwards we went home and I saw Grey's Anatomy. Izzy has to be the most confused woman I have ever seen. First she hooks up with this doctor that I can't remember his name and all is looking good and then her dead ex-fiance is haunting her. Whats more amazing is you see the Ghost with tears in his eyes and refusing to let her go on. And she made love with a Ghost? Oh come on now Izzy!

The weekend is here and plans are to get together Saturday with some friends and go to Karaoke. No I am NOT going to attempt to sing I actually know better but it's fun to watch.

Another beautiful morning

Yes another beautiful morning waking up to mid 50's. But the tide is changing and it will warm up to 75. I am so grateful for these great mornings so far and I look forward to many more. That time of year is approaching where I feel one needs to look back and just think of what one is grateful for. So many things are passing us by and our lives are in a fast pace that it is important to stop daily and think ok what has been nice about today and days gone by? I have been practicing this in my daily visualization and now it is pretty much a nice habit.

Next week family will be coming in to stay with us my very favorite father in law! I may not write as much during those days but I want to wish everyone a super holiday season. I plan on ok hold your horses yes doing some LITE cooking. We are having Thanksgiving Dinner at our place since in years gone by going to a restaurant has been unfavorable. Well unfavorable for those in the group that order Turkey some of us who order the restaurant specialty always come out liking our dish. So this year it will be at the house and oh no I am so not spending the day in the kitchen we will be ordering from Whole Foods. They are pretty good so I am looking forward to it. I think I may try my hand at making a Chocolate Martini. Honestly how hard can it be?

The quote for today is from a Native American Indian known as Tecumseh. Last month, the holiday of Halloween was celebrated. This is the holiday of the dead. Many traditions show honor to our dead ancestors and give thanks to them for our lives today. In the spirit of the changing of the seasons and to show respect for life by recognizing those who have gone before us, I give you Tecumseh's powerful words.

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.

Trouble no one about his religion; respect others in their views, and demand that they respect yours. Love your live, perfect your life; beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the Great Divide. Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, or even a stranger, if in a lonely place. Show respect to all people, but grovel to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
Touch not the poisonous firewater that makes wise ones turn to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death,
so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Have a great day!

Mother Nature you are so cool - cool yeah!

Yeah the title states it all, it is darn right cold! Ok get this 53 and in some areas upper 40's! But wait there is MORE the high today 69! Yeah I know gotta love it! And I do!

Ok so last night DWTS Cody was sent home. He was a cute young man but I guess it is time for the grown ups to play hard ball. They are down to the final 3! I am not sure but I think the show ends sometime next week. I will stand by what I said before that Brooke will win it but I hope it comes down to Lance and Brooke against each other.

I went to my local Moose lodge last night and in the meeting we actually sat and planned the children's Christmas Party. Normally these girls wait till the last minute so it was nice to see things being planned. Now time to get toy donations and shop for the babies. Yeah we even have Santa - Santa's name is Bubba. Yes you read right Bubba.

I am still in the hunt for the perfect item(s) and shelf to start my Sacred Space I am finding though that my bedroom is what I feel as my sacred space. No not just a spot but like 90% of the bedroom. So maybe I should make the whole bedroom my Sacred Space?

Another beautiful day in Miami!

Oh it is another beautiful cold morning in Miami! In the mid 50's and it will reach a high of 73 and then down again tonight, I said it yesterday but it is worth repeating THANK YOU MOTHER NATURE!

Last night's DWTS was pretty cool. Ok I am feeling pretty stupid sometimes when I listen to these judges because I see a performance I think was great and they are like oh that is the worst I have ever seen. For example Brooke and Derek did a Jive, and yes Derek was nervous about it because it is not his strong point. But honestly I thought they rocked! Oh the judges hit them hard. They worked a fake knee-to-groin shot into the choreography! It was awesome and the beginning she did this back fall where Derek caught her! Oh man it was good. Yes there was an illegal lift (WOW), and Carri Ann had to point that out and say "That is disrespectful." Oh get a hold of yourself missy. Len called the whole thing a disaster! A disaster? Hello I thought it was great so I was left stupid thinking ok I thought I have seen disasters and that dance was not a disaster. Poor Brooke was not used to getting BAD feedback. This is the one the judges loved from day 1. So she had this shocked look actually I thought she was going to cry. I still think she will win this competition but it was interesting to see her in near tears.

Ok so for her second dance she did a Salsa and yes I thought it was good. I thought the first one was better so I expected the harsh judgement and get this - THEY LOVED IT! Ah hello? Where am I living? I am not a dancing judge and obviously I cannot play one on TV.

So now on to my new hot couple Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer. The TOTALLY ROCKED and the Judges agreed with me - HUH how did that happen? Lance said he wanted to do these dances for his Grandpa who was in the audience and at practice and he had this glow of wanting to impress his grandfather. It was totally cute. Len admited he's been a bit tough, but "In this competition, it's not where you start, it's where you finish." Carrie Ann said it was a show stopper! Bruno exults, "Now THIS is semi-final material!"

There 2nd dance was the Jitterbug. This one was especially for Grandpa since it was the dance to do in his whipper snapper time period. Decked out in Navy costumes, Lance and Lacey leap into a high energy USO themed jitterbug. Very fun, very theatrical, very upbeat. So upbeat in fact that Lance loses his shoe half way through the routine. He kicks it out of the way and just keeps rolling. They end with a crazy lift. The crowd goes absolutely nuts! Bruno describes it as a joy. Carrie Ann says it was magic. Len gives them a salute. The judges loved it. Me too! (Yeah another agreement it was a weird night). Well they loved it so much that they got 2 out of 3 scores of 10 yes a total of 29 for this dance that is 29 out of 30! Oh yes go Lance!

For tonight's show Susan Lucci and Mark Ballas return to dance again. Julianne Hough sings! Aretha Franklin is scheduled to sing too. I think.

SO who will go home tonight?

So cold I love it

OMG another cold morning! YES it is cold and I so love it! How cold? Well hold your trousers it is a cool 57 degrees. Yeah that's right down right cold. The wind blowing make it feel like 53 degrees which to me is - perfect thank you Mother Nature! Word on the weather news say it may last a few days. One can only pray it does.

In other news Desperate Housewives was just so freaking good. A few things need answering and I still cannot get over Lynette's son because well I just think they got the wrong actor for that part. But that is just me. I am not sure I am on this whole teenager falling in love with an older woman who loves him back gets pregnant and then gets beat up by her current husband. Yeah try to piece all of that together. Oh yes lets not forget the older woman is the teenager's best friend's mom.

I am still reading New Moon and it is now starting to get more action oriented. I think I like Twilight better but I really need to finish it and decide which I prefer. I do like the saga. I cheated (a little) I went to the official website for Stephanie Meyer and read some scoop on the book, and this one so I sort of know of stuff that will happen. Not all because some of them I have questions on how did that happen but that's what reading the story is all about. Just wet my beak and get me going.

Tonight is DWTS - can't wait. One couple will be gone this week who will it be?

Stay Tune...

Oh yes

GNO aftermath

I went out last night with the girls for our unregular Girls Night Out. We use to want to do it once a month and that never seemed to fit in the schedule so we said how about 6 weeks. Well sometimes that worked but then it got further and further which means we need to focus and make it a priority. So all 4 of us went out. We incorporated a new person. Actually Nadyne is an old friend but never was able to go and now she is so we welcomed her with open arms.

So in typical GNO form Angela, Tina, Nadyne and I never plan where we want to go. We mean to it just never works that way until we are all in the car and then its heading in a certain direction. So in this case we went to Coconut Grove. Here is a nice blog on the Grove http://www.coconutgrovegrapevine.blogspot.com/ We went to GreenStreet which is located in the heart of the Grove. We had dinner and tons of laughs. We sat there for a few hours and laughed and lightly gossiped and did tons of people watching. After a few hours we checked out and walked a but in the area. Ran into an amazing live white painted Angel. Oh it was amazing, she stood there in the heart of Cocowalk and then would slightly move. A picture was taken and once I get the picture I will post it.

So once we walked and hanged for a bit we decided to get in the car and head towards South Beach of course! No particular place just sort of get and go. Well we cruised by Mango's, the destructive Cleveland (what a shame use to be a great place) Prime 21, Love and Hate and eventually ended up having more fun laughing at the people hanging outside. We decided to make up stories just based on what they were wearing and what we were seeing. It was a riot. We then all headed back home. A few yawns and stretches and we realized we so cannot party like rock stars because now it was almost 1:00 am. So we all went back home and promised to do it again - before Christmas??? We shall see.

Tonight is Desperate Housewives and it looks really good!! Stay tune.

Friday is here!

It's a great Friday. Yesterday I took a day off work and I am doing the same today. My original plans were to go to Orlando for an Elks convention but I changed my mind once I saw the agenda. So many things so many "repeats been there done that." So it just seemed like a waste of money.

It was nice yesterday my son Nick and I went to lunch at Applebee's and it was rather nice. Then the rest of the day was just relaxing and doing not much of anything. In the evening Paul and I went to Tony Roma's for a couple drinks. That too was nice I like that place too.

Today will be a nice reflecting day and then I need to get a hold of the lady I asked to prepare Friday Night Dinner for the Lodge tonight. Word has it she has no car and when I asked her if she needed me she said "I don't know maybe." She has not called me and I misplaced her number - OK its not misplaced it's in the office and I am off today. But I do have a number to her best friend so I will do the connect a friend bit. I am looking forward to it we needed the help and this lady needed the money so its a win win situation.

The spiritual journey continues. Visualizations are helping and I am so much closer to actually starting the book. I don't have a plat but I am thinking if I just start it then it will come! I am getting closer to that so I think the guides are helping me.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Moments this morning

Ok my friend Angela predicted Maurice would be the next star gone from the DWTS show and she was right. It is kind of hard from here on end because they are all doing really well except for Brooke Burke who is well "at a professional level."

Last night was really nice. Prior to the show I did some meditating and visualization exercises and did you just ever have one of those nights where you just rested and slept like a baby so sound and peaceful? Yeah that was me. I also continued the New Moon by Stephenie Meyer saga. I have said it before and I will say it again the character Bella is just weird for being a teenager but honestly if she was normal would I be reading the 2nd installment of the book? Here is what the press release is on the book and honestly the description is pretty accurate:

I FELT LIKE I WAS TRAPPED IN ONE OF THOSE TERRIFYING NIGHTMARES…For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning. . . .

Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

I highly recommend it if you are looking for a super good mystery thrilling type novel to read. I have to thank my BFF Chonga Janis for hooking me up with this book it's pretty cool.

For those of us on water week the night began with some light rain and it continued this morning washing away all the debris and leaving room for nice clean cleansing. There was a nice breeze in the morning air and it was rather nice considering it will go up to 80 today.

Have a magical day!

Tuesday

It is a beautiful slightly windy morning. The temperature is 71 degrees and its expected to reach a high of 80 for some that is actually cool. I said for some but it is better then 90. The day is looking like it will be a normal day normal meaning nothing out of the ordinary should happen. With that said lets see how the day goes....nothing is ever what it seems.

Did you see DWTS last night? It was pretty cool. Each couple had to do 2 dances and on the 2nd dance the Star had to do a solo dance of at least 15 seconds. This meant dancing for at least 15 seconds with no pretty partner to make them look good. I think they did pretty darn good. Yes some did better then others but they all did pretty good. Ok I said this in the beginning and I will say it again Brooke is going to win this whole thing. They keep giving her 10's and honestly she deserves them. I found something not totally fair. Brooke is really so good that she is being placed on the same level as the professional dancers so the judges or mainly one (Len) is judging her on a different level. Is that fair? I am not sure. It means she is going to have to work that much harder then the others because they are going to be more critical in judging her. I am not sure that is a good thing. I think its a compliment but these dancers are professionals and how can you really judge someone who has only been doing it for like 2 months on a professional level? Regardless this chick is good and will win.

Ok so since Susan Lucci is gone I was thinking who am I rooting for? No it is not Brooke I already know she is going to win it. I think I am going for Lance Bass. Yes the boy band singer. Come on he is such a cutie. He has that cute little boy grin and he is trying so very hard. I like him he has a good aura about him. So thats my go go go guy right now GO LANCE!

I also managed to watch some of Hereos and this show is a never ending - HUH? But I like it because just when you think it is going in one direction they throw something at you and change it. I use to totally dislike Sylis but I find myself feeling sorry for him and kind of hoping he will find hope. Ok and how freaky was it to see that guy in the dessert with his head cut off like that? Hello if he could paint the future like he has been could he not had seen his own beheading? Poor Hiro having to see that and his side kick just standing there go huh huh huh. Ok it still amazes me how this sidekick with no powers is still alive.

One thing I liked was at the end they had a special trailer of Twilight which opens Nov 21 and I cannot wait to see the movie.

Peace and Love to all and hope water week is bringing in refreshing clear views and positive outlook!

Manic Monday

It sure is a Manic Monday. Ah gotta love it the rush of getting to work and as soon as you sit down boom first phone call. Ok hello it is 7:20 AM do people not believe in have coffee or tea first? Oh and it just got better from there.

The end of the day is approaching oh but there will still be work to do. One must continue the task at hand.

The weekend was good 2 Elk Lodges and 1 Moose Lodge all for the greater good. Nice friends good music and some laughter along the way.

Desperate Housewives is getting pretty sinfully good! I do not know if I like that old lady or not. At first it was no but now I am like oh maybe but I am not convinced that is for sure. Next week they showed fired and mayhem oh I just love those dramas.

Speaking of drama tonight is DWTS yes these remaining stars will be dancing 2 dances which means in under a week they had to learn 2 dances. No Susan will not be there sadly but she will be missed...ok if only by me.

What else may happen?

Friday

Oh Friday you finally got here and I am so happy you are here! I wish I could work from home on Fridays heck I wish I could work from home every day...ok maybe not everyday just every other day.

I am not my usual high energy self today I feel sort of - off balanced so the plan is today to listen to Music that will align my chakras and internally work on balancing myself. Hopefully by tonight it will be fine and I have no doubt it will be fine. Oh speaking of tonight yes the visit of my favorite Elks Lodge in South Miami. Yup tonight is Greek night and I for one am looking forward to it.

Oh but this isn't the only Elks Lodge I will be visiting this weekend save me now I have a meeting at Miami Lodge tomorrow afternoon. Yes that is the end of Elk Lodge visits because once I leave Miami Lodge I will most likely head to the Moose Lodge for some ceremony there. Once all that is done I think I will hide and just visualize being the wind again.

Ok this is all I have for now..

It had to end

Well its a sad morning. It had to happen eventually one thing for sure I am glad it happened after Cloris left. But Susan Lucci was voted off last night. Susan was happy for the experience and thanked everyone especially her wonderful trainer. Susan it's OK at least you have an Emmy which is more then some of those silly judges have.

In happier news I woke up to pretty mid sixties weather. No it does not look like this picture - come on this Miami we only dream of our trees looking like this. It will rise to almost 80 and then drop tonight to the 60's and I for one am happy that Mother Nature is visiting Miami.

Tonight is Grey's Anatomy and I recently read that Dr Hahn is out of there - Thank you buh bye! The doctors are going to practice tonight a solo surgery on this mannequin that simulates sound and can even talk to you. I learned that this is a real thing. In one of the hospitals here they actually use this with residents to train them. If you give them the right meds the patient responds but if you give them something well they croak. Now it is anybody's guess as to who will be the first doctor on the show tonight to get this luxury surgery? Will it be Meredith since oh well the show is GREY'S Anatomy. Or will it be whinny George - God I hope not! Or will the blond ambitious Izzy be the lucky one?

The Change has begun

Well it is official true change has arrived in America. It is truly nice to be part of history. Think about it this will go down in the history books. Yes as tomorrow comes there will ups and downs but together as a nation we must stand strong and be supportive.

It's amazing that today as Day 4 just ended that one of the Soul Coaching exercises was to "Change your language." I think this is what we all need to think about. Instead of saying I am pissed off change the language to I am a tad cranky. So as day 5 begins lets let Fresh invigorating energy fill our lives!

In other fun news DWTS results is tonight. Not sure who will go I just hope Susan is not leaving just yet. Ok the reality is she is not the best dancer I know this but come on this is Susan Lucci aka Erica Kane. Soap lovers unite!

Ok so tomorrow night is Grey's Anatomy and I still cannot find a logical reason for the character George? Like what is his purpose there? He looks like a lost little boy only he is a doctor???? I am undecided on Lexie but for now she can stay. I heard they are getting rid of the lesbian character Dr Hahn - I did not care too much for her anyway she did not seem to have "feelings" and I like characters that have feelings rather then harsh words. Tomorrow's episode will have The Chief announce to the residents that a solo surgery will be awarded, and the news sends them into a competitive frenzy. Frenzy? No not these doctors. They are never in a frenzy.

Election Day

Ok I voted! I was at my poll place at 6:45 AM thinking ok as in the past little line hardly any wait should be out by 7:30. Well I got there and hum there is a line a wee bit longer then in the past. Ok to be expected. So I got out and thought once they open at 7 it will hopefully move. And it did the line was actually pretty good in movement in the beginning. Then it just sort of stopped. You see I live in Floriduh and we now have to do things the very long way. So you tell me why it took so long. You walk in and go to the line under your last name's initial ok. Check in and get this tiny blue paper. Then you are directed to another line. Ok go to that line and two long ballot sheets front and back and you black pen because you will need that for voting. Ok get your sheets and wait in you guessed it another line. This line is for the voting booth oh but since this is paper ballot the ballot box is merely a place to fill in the blank. Ok so I am productive ( I am special that way) and I fill in the blanks while in line. I was smart I did my homework and knew what I wanted to do and even brought in my filled sample ballot. Ok so now I walk up to the ballot box and pretty much validate what I had written. Ok fine I am so done. Then I go to the guy I am done and he goes "Ok great now stand in this line" ARRGGG another line? Oh yes there is another line so I can put my ballot in a scanner so after a while I scan my two sheets of ballot paper and I am ready for them to tell me to stand in another line but they don't. They take the black pen they gave me the pretty blue paper and tell me to go and thank you! So when I originally thought oh by 7:30 I am out of there turned out I am walking out of there at 8:20. I know I did my American duty and voted and I feel good about that I really do but come on the process could of been so much more easier.

Ok on to happier news - Dancing With the Stars

The show started with individual dancers but later in the show they were going to be hook up with their teams. They would be divided into 2 sets of teams named Team Cha Cha and Team Paso Doble. 3 couples on one and 3 couples on the other. The group would dance and the score that the judges gave them would be added to their individual scores and then of course added to the votes received by the viewers. Well some of the expected rah rah rah was for BROOKE BURKE & DEREK HOUGH - Scoring Carrie Ann: 10 Len: 10 Bruno: 10 - 30 out of 30 - the first perfect score of the season! I have to admit the girl is good she really is good.

LANCE BASS & LACEY SCHWIMMER - Scoring
The judges are divided on this dance. Bruno and Carrie Ann hand out nines, but Len only award the rumba a seven. 25 out of 30. It was funny to see the judges fighting which goes to show its a matter of taste who has it and who does not. Len is a fuddy duddy so he does not like if someone does anything not traditional. I think they deserved a higher score but thats my little opinion.

SUSAN LUCCI & TONY DOVOLANI - Paso Doble

This week during rehearsal Susan and Tony butted heads. Tony said he wanted to get Susan all fired up in order to bring out the aggression for the Paso Doble and boy he sure did. Bruno loved it. Carrie Ann makes Susan stand up and shout "I'm doing good!" That's self motivation, Carrie Ann Inaba style. Len said it was among Susan's best routines, full of danger and drama. So did it show in the score? 24 out of 30. Ok good but come on can you go higher then an 8 just for once! Don't make her get all Erica Kane on you all!

This week because of the election the Results Show has been moved to Wednesday night at 8PM. Don't forget to vote! Sure, vote for your favorite couple on the show, but get out there and vote for real, too. See you Wednesday. GO SUSAN! Ops did I say that out loud?

Here we go again...

Here we are the start of my work week. I love Mondays. Yes that was in a sarcastic tone. The work week is here and already I am wishing it was Friday. Due to the long lines early voting is just not an option for me and I after seeing how an absentee ballot gets handled I think I will wait till tomorrow and be at the polls at 7:00 AM.

I hope your work and life week goes well. Let the winds blow and look up at Mother Nature and tell her thank you then watch how the trees talk to each other. Yeah it's cool.

Oh let's not forget tonight is Dancing With the Stars! Rah Rah for Susan Lucci!

I tried..

Well I so tried to start Nov 1st blogging but what can I say the day started on a weekend. I won't beat myself up on the head.

Alright the rounds of Elk Lodges is done. Friday Night began with dinner at South Miami Coral Gables Elks Lodge - Steak Dinner all I can is YUM. Large steaks on the BBQ grill to order with a salad, and dessert for $12 - only in America folks only in America. Hung out with some really nice friends. I enjoy those nights all sitting around this big table laughing and just talking about anything and everything.

Then 3 of us headed towards Miami Lodge 948 for their Halloween Party. Pretty scary site(s). There should be a law in regards to people over 90 wearing low revealing outfits. Thats just so wrong. But the event was fun and they got a large crowd as usual.

But wait there is more. Then I stopped off at my local Moose Lodge for a night cap on my way home. One of the ladies had asked me to stop by for their Halloween party and I told her I would do it on my way home. You know there is only so much a girl can travel. Stayed there for alittle but spoke to some nice people and then I was off to my safe haven of home sweet home.

Now Saturday oh yes Saturday was nice too. Got all dressed up fancy style and went to the Charity Ball. The dinner was prime rib and cheesecake for dessert. Some over priced silent auction items that I wish I could afford. No bargain there thats for sure. We had a table of the funest yes I said fun-est friends. It was a total riot. We laughed and sang and pretty much had a great time. Then it was time to go home - yee pee! I came home and wait till you hear what I did I finished Twilight!!! Yes thats right I sure did! I had to I was reading it in the afternoon and it was at this climax high energy point and then I had to go to the charity ball- arg...I kept thinking I really want to finish it tonight. SO I did. SO there.

Oh wait you may think the round is over no of course NOT. This morning we went back to Miami Lodge for Brunch with Jeff, Janis, and Glen - the same gang we saw last evening. Oh you know we are all Elks all the time. Now I think I may be Elk-free until Wednesday? I don't know who knows we shall see.

Ok so tonight is Desperate Housewives and I can't wait. I am convinced Edi's husband is the father/husband of the little boy and lady Mike accidently killed in the car accident. He has a wicked side well more then wicked down right evil. I think Brothers and Sisters is after that usually around that time I start yawning and miss portions of it so hopefully I won't miss anything today.

Halloween! BOO!

Hallowing Friday and Happy Halloween to everyone! Ah the end of the week and round one of going to an Elks Lodge is done. Tonight will be round 2 and 3.

Last night was rather nice and touching. The boys that were graduating were all great young men. These are men that were heading in the wrong direction, had they continued they would be another number in the jail system or worse. Instead, they did this program GOT IT and are on the right path. One of the requirements for graduating the program is to write and read a speech about your experience and what you have learned from it. Well it was touching one young man was nearly in tears. Here is a 17 year old who by looking at him physically you may run the other way and is there crying. Why? Well he realized what he put his mom through, he realized she was struggling herself and having to worry about him was not helping. He apologized to his mother and said he will never put her through that again. He had to stop a few times to catch himself from shedding more tears. It was truly nice to see.

Another young man also told his mom he was sorry and that he learned that he wanted to make a difference in the world and wanted to help people. One of the course they teach you in the program is CPR and this young man realized he wants to save lives. He said he wanted to finish school, go to college, medical school and become a doctor. He knew it would not be easy but he wanted to do this and one day he would buy his mom a house in the mountains so she can be happy and a way of saying thank you for standing by me and I am sorry for what I put you through.

What a truly magical night it was. 3 of the officers and 2 trustees were there and we all sat together and just smiled and thought yeah this is why we do what we do. It will be nice to sit with these same friends tonight, have a nice steak dinner, laugh, and talk.

Then after that get in the car head 5 miles down the road to yes another Elks Lodge. (no Elk lodges are not normally that close together especially in Miami but we are SPECIAL that way).

Miami Lodge 948 is having a Halloween Party and while I do not plan on dressing in costume there will be a few friends I enjoy spending time with. I know for the most part it will be a great laughing and smiling night and that is always good for the soul. But what has me intrigued is my Chonga friend Janis has told me she has a "prop" for me? Some sort of costume that I don't have to wear anything for? I don't know either she was rather mysterious so I SO looking forward to seeing what it is. She predicts I will like it. Hey anything for the cause!

Ok here is normally where I write a short little quote but today is not a normal day is it?

Here for Halloweeen Day/Night is a short story..

Finally Healed

By Allison Greene, published Oct 30, 2008

Susan walked down the road in soft silence, a blank stare piercing the darkness before her. She told nobody to smile, because it would keep them healthy and strong. Nobody answered back, why thank you, I will, and Susan felt the emptiness of the world around her begin to thicken, cutting off her last hope for happiness. Susan felt her body pause, testing the darkness for light.

There was none. Susan continued to walk down the street in the thin, pale green gown with which she was coerced to grace her body. The gown reached only to her knees, which was torture to the false princess's modest consciousness. Susan watched her feet step over hard, rocky asphalt as she crossed the intersection to the other corner. She watched her soles bruise and callous from the unyielding stress put upon them. Susan felt her link to reality slip away and knew that nothing could ever retrieve it. Susan's will to live vanished, so she knelt. Her legs were very cold, but Susan no longer cared about physical discomfort. Her body was not worth saving. Susan looked down at her pale hands as they melted. She almost screamed, but it did not hurt. That is, it hurt quite much, but she liked it. Susan knew in her heart, what was left of it, that she was dying. Susan felt a small pain, but it failed to make an idea in her mind to stop letting go. Susan looked up in a last burst of curiosity just before she completely relaxed in death, and she blinked. That was not supposed to be there.

Above her, Susan was met with the image of a young man with sad, gentle eyes. She stared at him for a long time. The man was so sad, but he seemed to be urging her to keep fighting. Susan thought to herself that the man asked something impossible. She knew she was too far gone.

Nevertheless, the man's glow of liberation was alluring. Susan looked at him again for a time, knowing she could never be a part of the splendor he represented. The man's face turned to anguish, and blood flowed from his scalp. His wrists exploded, and his ankles, spraying warm blood over Susan's face. A growing bloodstain marred the man's robes at his chest, and a dark red puddle grew steadily at the man's feet. Susan felt the man's torment and wept, but still refused to get up. The man's agony continued, and his breathing became labored as he progressed toward death.

Susan watched as the shadow of a soldier pointed and laughed, proudly displaying the weapons that produced the man's injuries. It looked like a spear and a hammer. As the soldier grew more visible, Susan saw that it was female, and she thought she recognized her. As Susan stared, her heart leapt into her throat: the soldier was Susan, and she was jeering and taunting the man who, without her realizing it, had outstretched his arms, and was shirtless. At last, Susan realized what was going on.

Susan awoke in the hospital an instant later, knowing she had just met the only one who could save her life. She cried loudly, begging the air for forgiveness. The dream had put a bright fire in Susan's heart, and she knew, deep within, that she was finally healed.

And now my friends Have a great Halloween and

Ghost busters!

Time is a ticking the week is coming to an end the fun-filled round of going to an Elks Lodge begins tonight at 6:00 PM. The good thing is there will be nice friends there and it really is a good thing that is being done for these young men. Tomorrow night will be a purely Party like a rock star night - Elk Style. Then Saturday Charity Ball - Miami 948 Style. I was going to attempt in going out for a late night rendevous with 2 gal pals but they changed their plans so I may stick it out. Sunday Brunch at the Elks? While it would be so nice to see Harry I don't know...lets see how or better said what time I wake up and if the man would like to take me out there. He usually is pretty good about so it is more up to me I suppose.

Well last night I continued reading Twilight and I am more then half way through and I am just on edge. I saw a commercial that the movie will be released Nov. 21 so after reading the book well I am very interested in seeing the movie. Highly recommend it.
I know what you all are waiting for...yes the weather report ...ok if you insist...
Currently it is Mostly Cloudy 75°F/24°C . Tonight Partly cloudy with a 10 percent chance of showers. Lows in the upper 60s. Northeast winds 15 mph.
Here is a local story I enjoyed reading:
Real-Life Ghostbusters Investigate 'Haunted' City Hall
WILTON MANORS, Fla. -- Real-life "ghostbusters" investigated a South Florida city hall commission chamber following years of reports of strange happenings.
Workers at the Wilton Manors City Hall claim they've heard noises and seen movement well after closing time, so they called in the help of the South Florida Ghost Research Team.
"Ghosts are everywhere," said John Carr, a paranormal expert and head of the team. "Whether you believe it or not, they're out there."

Experts used state-of-the-art audio monitors, temperature gauges and still photography overnight Thursday, in search of paranormal activity.
City hall worker Kim Holinko said her co-worker told her about paranormal activity before. "She mentioned there was a spirit in the Commission Chamber," said Holinko. "She didn't seem scared about it, she just said she felt a presence."

Experts believe the ghostly presence may be from a maintenance worker who had his ashes spread throughout the hall.

The building is set to be demolished to make way for a new city hall and police station.
I think the real fun will be after the fact when the building comes down. Who are you going to call? Can anyone say Paranormal State!!

The Votes are in!

The votes are in! These were the final two. Susan and Cloris. John said "they are not necessarily the bottom two." which means they purposely left them to face each other for show-effect. But in the end justice was served and Cloris was sent packing! I totally loved her exit - she sat on the floor and said "I am not leaving!" It was rather funny. She wanted to continue to dress up and play so she said I will continue to dress up and play and you will see me in the audience. Ah ever the true ham she went up to each judge and said I did not take what you said personally I completely understand. Ok so now this means that Susan may be next on the hit parade. Oh dear Lord no not Erica Kane! Am I ready to see her go? Ah NO! Are there others there better dancers then Susan - well yes there are but come on this is Erica Kane a force to be reckoned with!

So next week for the show Edyta will be filling in for Julianne while Julianne recovers from her surgery. The couples will compete in a team competition (3 couples per team) for the judge’s scores and your votes. That should make for an interesting evening.

So stay tune..

The pretty weather continues but today will be the last day. This morning was a very chilling 56! Oh yeah it was pretty darn cold and I love every minute of it! The sad news is that by tomorrow we will be back in the 80's.

But you know that is the price we pay for living in Paradise.

Totally Tuesday

Pretty pretty pretty!! Is all I can say! This morning the weather was a super cool 62!!!! Yes I know 62!! I walked outside this morning and felt that crisp coolness in the air and thought oh boy I could use a jacket but did I? NO of course not I LOVE this weather! As I drove to work I noticed a ton of people with their signs up shouting to VOTE and they all had their jackets some even had scarfs and hats on! I thought oh how South Florida! Gotta love it! OK for those of us that enjoy this change of weather its great. Now for the folks who live here and don't like it - ah shoot don't worry it will be gone by Thursday and the weekend will be hot in the 80's again.

Now DWTS last night was pretty cool. I am ready to bounce Bruno on the head how dare he put down my Susan Lucci! But one thing all 3 judges did was really give negative feedback to Cloris Leachman. They also gave her the lowest score I have ever seen a total of 15. I think they did it mainly so to get her out, even though its the votes that count but the votes are added to the judges to total. So I guess they figure lets make it low. Carrie Ann told Cloris that she was starting to act childish and it was sad that someone like Toni Braxton was eliminated because of it. Well in part I agree I just think it was too harsh to give to her after all its the voters that are keeping her in. With that in mind DON'T VOTE FOR CLORIS LEACHMAN!

In other DWTS news: Two-time Dancing With the Stars champ Julianne Hough is undergoing minor surgery this week to remove her appendix, she revealed on her Web site Monday. Hough, 20, suffers from endometriosis, a painful condition caused by the growth of the tissue lining the uterus in other parts of the abdomen outside of the uterus. It is found in 5-10 percent of women of reproductive age around the world. Hough was first hospitalized at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week after experiencing mild stomach pains. After consulting with her doctor, surgery was recommended, she said on her site. For the next week Cody will have a replacement dancer.

So will he still be able to stay on top of the Leader Board? Stay tune..

The week is looking fairly good. This Thursday I have a special program dinner at my Elks Lodge. It's for The Gate Program which is a program started by this angel of mercy Mimi Sutherland for non-violent first time juvenile offenders. The boys in this program are between 12-17 and what they learn is what will be the result of their life if they continue on the path they are in. I am talking about everything from visiting prisons to going to the morgue and seeing an autopsy to talking to visiting senior living facilities. The counselors and teachers are caring and loving. Once the kids go through the program the Lodge gives them and their families a Graduation Dinner. What they have done is now in the past, and, now, its up to them what their futures hold. Some of the peer counselors were in the program at one time and learned so much for the experience that they stayed to teach and guide others. So this Thursday night will be a nice night of celebration.

This Friday I am scheduled to attend not one but 2 Elks lodges. First I will be going to my lodge for Friday Night dinner. I must keep this alive since the 12 of us that go really like each other. Then I am meeting my Chonga and her Mr Wonderful at their Elks Lodge for a Halloween party. And No I am not dressing up I am scary enough as it is.

Oh but wait there is MORE Elk visits! Saturday Night going over to Miami Elks Lodge for their annual Charity Ball. So lets recap: Thursday Elks Lodge, Friday Two Elk Lodges, Saturday Elk Lodge. You think I will be all Elked out by the end of the weekend? I think I will be too.

Welcome to the Fall - Miami Style

Welcome to the start of Earth week! What a great start the weather here has changed! Yeah it is no longer hot, raining and muggy and while its not like the above beautiful picture it is special to me!

Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight
Mostly ClearLo: 60°
Mostly clear. Breezy...Cooler. Lows near 60. North winds 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph after midnight.

What great news! It is going to get cooler! Currently this morning the wind was blowing slightly and one could sense the change in the air. I looked at the trees and said well hello Mother Nature! Gotta love it!

If you have not done so already remember to vote. On October 20th early voting began and it is a success, I know because the lines are long and people seem to not be minding to wait in it. I for one am not a long line person so I may wait until voting day and be at the station right at 7:00 am like I did last time. That seemed to work out the best in the past. However I may check when leaving work to see what the wait time is if its not too bad I may take a stab at it. The important thing is to get out there and vote. What a great country we live in where our votes count.

Ok this annoucement was paid for by ME.

It's a Funny World

Oh look at this pretty leave. I saw this in a picture and I just could not take my eyes of it. Oh I can hear you all laughing. Its the simple things in life that make me happy.

Oh Friday thank you for finally arriving! Last night was Grey's Anatomy and I must be getting old(er) because I fell asleep in the middle of it so I never got to see the ending arggg.

Tonight is Friday night dinner at the my Elks Lodge. It's Lasagna and good friends. I enjoy going there mainly for the friends more then the food. I expect the usual suspects and I surely hope so or else will I will be disappointed.

Now I read something interesting this morning and I just thought to myself OMG what is this world turning into? Here let me post the story:

Online divorcee jailed after killing virtual hubby
By MARI YAMAGUCHI, Associated Press

TOKYO: A 43-year-old Japanese woman whose sudden divorce in a virtual game world made her so angry that she killed her online husband's digital persona has been arrested on suspicion of hacking, police said Thursday.

The woman, who is jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his identification and password to log onto popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in mid-May, a police official in northern Sapporo said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.

"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations.

The woman had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.

She has not yet been formally charged, but if convicted could face a prison term of up to five years or a fine up to $5,000.

Players in "Maple Story" raise and manipulate digital images called "avatars" that represent themselves, while engaging in relationships, social activities and fighting against monsters and other obstacles.

The woman used login information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married, and killed the character. The man complained to police when he discovered that his beloved online avatar was dead.

Ok is that not just silly or what? I know I know some logic minded people out there will say its not that she killed the avatar its that she hacked into the computer. Come on all she did was kill his silly character couldn't he oh I don't know create another one and move on? Personally she should of waited until they were in the game together and then pushed him off his pedestal. But come on a game? You killed my made up character so you are going to jail. That's like creating an imaginary friend and then someone comes and kills it. OK yes I know over the top.

Ok I just thought I would share that humours story.

So what will this weekend bring? I don't know either but

Good Morning Miami!

Another day of great breezy weather in Miami! Yes breezy. It is not hot and humid and last night inbetween the rain there was a tiny coolness in the air. This morning it was very breezy the wind was blowing and singing the trees were swaying. Oh it was a pretty sight. The weatherman tells us that there will be 80-100% chance of rain. Fine ruin my parade.

I took an interesting online quiz this morning which was on which Archangel I am most like. I found my match very interesting - Raphael.

In times of trouble, people look to good luck charms, books of faith, or angels to guard them against further misfortune. The four archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel are the most popular guardians for those who pray for help. Each archangel has its own special characteristics. Find out the archangel with whom you share a closer spiritual connection at http://www.beliefnet.com/section/quiz/index.asp?surveyID=376

In other news

Hump Day

Ah the middle of the week! Wednesday. It's a beautiful morning in sunny Miami. Ok the sun is just coming out now but the last 2 days were actually nice! Yes I mean it was breezy and slighty and remember I said slightly coolish. I almost felt like I was in a city that had more then one season. Until I was in the elevator at work and someone walks in with a zip lock bag with brown and orange leaves. We all looked at it like WOW - OMG how pretty. Ok for the northern folks you must think HUH? You see in Miami we get 2 colors on our leaves green and dark brown which means its dead. She was visiting one of those States that have seasons and brought back some leaves. You see we don't need no fancy tourist shops we go to the park and pick up leaves. But I have to admit, those leaves looked gorgegous.

Ok on to other news - Dancing With the Stars!
Well after much dancing and singing they finally revealed who was leaving - Toni Braxton has left the building. She actually was getting much better and I think she could of been one of the finalist had she stayed. Cloris Leachman lives another day! Do not get me wrong I like the woman she is funny but I am sorry Toni was much better in dancing then she was. But what do we learn from this? We learn viewers like voters make all the difference! It's the votes that are keeping Cloris in this competition and now she has crossed over the half way mark and is going into the final rounds.

Susan Luccie was in the bottom two and I am so happy she survived! She has got to outlast Cloris is all I say! Erica Kane must rule! Speaking of Erica Kane All My Children was just so freaking good yesterday! Babe should die any day now and of course in typical soap form Daddy dearest David will walk in and find her dead and vow revenge! One must be afraid because David is a mean nasty. But we have Jessie Hubbard in the city now so beware David. But of course Jessie has his own drama to deal with like how to explain to his wife that he has a daughter nearly 20 years old. Ok hello Jessie is this what you did for all those years while you were on the run pretending to be dead? Ah Yeah. Meanwhile Kendall is in the operating room after the tornado made a house fall on her and oh NO wait another tornado this time it rips thru the hospital while Jake the surgeon is operating on her! Ok he is a good surgeon he threw his body over Kendall's and the hospital lost power. Ok what to do in the middle of an operation no power, logic tells you to close up and recoop. Nope this is Super Surgeon Jake he will operate on Kendall in the dark. I wonder if thats why Kendall will end up in a coma - ah you think?

BACK!

Yes I am back! Finally! When last I left off I was days shy of the Charity Ball I was charged with putting together so I took a couple days of work to go and help put the finishing touches. It never fails the last days are always last minute entries, rushes and prep work. I was at the Elks Lodge pretty much all day and a good portion of the night. Needless to say I was not able to do daily blog entries or Soul Coaching tasks. But now the ball is over, the lights are off and I am able to get back on track with Fire Week and Soul Coaching. I know this is all part of the process I am going to continue to embrace it and see what develops internally.

Ok lets get to the fun stuff DWTS! Last nights show was pretty cool. I still think Susan rocks and Brooke is good but man she better watch out because the stars are catching up to her. Here are some highlights:

Julianne's experiencing some of the same problems her brother Derek had this week with the Jitterbug - she's never taught the Jitterbug before. The judges loved it. Carrie Ann thinks Cody could give Brooke a run for her money, Len liked it very much, and Bruno didn't think it was a Jitterbug, he thought it was high energy FIRE BUG!!! Carrie Ann gives them a TEN! Bruno and Len give Cody and Julianne nines, for a total of 28 out of 30.

Not so bad for "Jitterbug 101" as Brooke calls it. They pulled it off big time, but will they pull into the lead? Yes! Carrie Ann gives them a 10. Len hands out a 9. Bruno punches his fist in the air and roars "TEN!" Wow, 29 out of 30 is the highest score tonight and the highest score of the season. The Brooke and Derek Machine dances on, unstoppable.

Cheryl and Maurice have been having a little friction in rehearsal this week because she's never taught the salsa to anyone before - ballroom is her game. Oooh, Cheryl called Maurice "lazy" to get him to up his game. Ok does she not realize this is a football player who can most likely turn her into a football and throw her for a touchdown? Carrie Ann gives them a 9, Len follows suit with a 9, and Bruno gives them a 9 - 27 out of 30.

21 out of 30 - they got straight sevens, which seems a little high to be honest. Each week Corky gives Cloris a character for their dances, to help her with the performance. This week, Cloris was playing a "skanky ho." Her words, not mine.

Carrie Ann hands out a 7, Len gives them a 7, and Bruno gives them an 8. A decent score for this week. Susan and Tony are competing against Warren and Kym in The Hustle, but this week it turns out that Susan has fractured a bone in her ankle. It's been hard for her to walk this week, let alone dance. Dancing to "Inside Out" Tony and Susan hit the floor in full-on Studio 54 dance wear. Susan's wearing knee high boots for support, but she seems a little hesitant. Oooh, nice lift. She seemed to be warming up a bit, even doing some footwork. Another big lift, ending with a Travolta point. It was pretty good.Carrie Ann liked it OK, Len thought that Tony was treating Susan like a china doll and wanted them to "swing their knickers" so to speak, and Bruno thought she looked like an uptown girl dancing the hustle. "A little precious," Bruno says, "but still a hustle."

Speaking of Susan (AKA Erica Kane) not sure if anyone watches All My Children but it rocked between Cliff Hanger Friday and Yesterday! This week is going to be big! Which is great for watching! Amazing normally these big productions on done during sweeps month - I am loving it. Babe is going to bite the dust this week. Sniffle sniffles bye Babe. But Bianca being Pregnant with Zack's baby???? OMG never saw that coming! I cannot wait to here how that happened. Ok this is a soap they did not make it the old fashion way because Zack is way in love with Kendall who just so happens to be Bianca's sister.
