Great Times!

What a ride! Yeah the weekend was fabulous and wild in a grown up sort of way. Saturday and Sunday I spent the weekend at Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hotel in Hollywood Florida with a couple of friends. It was my BFF from Junior High School (do they say Junior High School still?) birthday and I have a friend who is a very frequent player there and she was able to secure us a hotel room for FREE. You have to love those kinds of things. So we went there and decided to treat ourselves to the spa I had a Foot Detox, Spa Pedicure and Manicure while my friend endulged in a 50 minute Swedish Massage. Oh can you just feel the tension leaving already? Needless to say those events were great. Then we gambled a little. Went to eat and had Surf and Turf (YUM!) and then returned to gambling (slot-style) I hit the mini-jackpot! Oh yeah I hit it good (lets just say 3 figures) so I went up to my friend and I said "Enough gambling lets go get drinks -my treat!" and so we did! The rest of the night was spent walking around the different clubs sitting outside people watching back to the club that I am so sorry was sooooo boring! But that may be because we got there too late like after the main event left. Eventually we went back to the room did some girl talk and crashed.

Next day was hanging by the pool and doing some more "people" watching. We did have the hotel room for that extra night but for me the next day was a work day :-( which meant I needed to leave otherwise I would call in sick. I did think about it but I have a couple time sensitive stuff on my desk I am working on so I must be the responsible adult and leave. But oh the memories. The girls stayed and rubbed it in my face when they said Ex-Dolphin Jason Taylor was there and they saw him!! ARGGG That is what I get for being a responsible adult - I missed Jason Taylor!

Now here I am in the regular work week and several stuff are happening. Not fun some Elk-decision stuff. I really liked it when someone else made those decisions and I could complain about them.

One thing I am looking forward to is tomorrow is Wish Casting Wednesday...what will the question be?

Wishcasting Wednesday

Jamie @ Starshyne Productions has prompted this weeks question of Wishcasting Wednesday.

What is your Money Wish?

Not a bad question for me this week I must say. I guess my money wish is to always have enough to pay the bills, have enough to allow for little blessings and some luxuries and not have the stress and worries of where will the next paycheck come from. So there it is...

What is your Money Wish?

New Beginning

Time to put this baby to rest. We finally closed and are ready to start a new chapter. I was asked if I wanted to go back to the house and say a final good-bye and I thought no because I had already made my peace and I was ready to move on. I recently had a nice conversation with a friend about some of the "Moments" that happened in there. I was telling her about the decorations that popped into my mom's head. Some of those moments made me want to say "Oh man mom what were you thinking?" But that is part of growing up and living. They help form memories and I realized that was my making peace and saying Good-Bye.
Tomorrow I get installed as Exalted Ruler at my Elks Lodge and last night I was at the Lodge and wow there was some fancy decorations! We plan on leaving them up for the event tomorrow all I have to say is those old biddies better get a seat fast otherwise they may end up on the floor on cushions.

Friends

The end of the week is here! Oh finally! It has been a hectic week at work for and for the most part I really do not mind it because it makes the time go by just sometimes some requests are better then others. So the end of the week is here and I generally try to think back at the week and stuff that has happened and any lessons learned. I have learned I have nice friends. I like talking to my nice friends and hanging with them. I went to a few events this week and hanging with my friends is cool and this got me to thinking of friendship. You know friendships are special and cool and I think every once in a while we should stop and say wow I have some nice friends not perfect because no one is perfect but for the most part pretty darn cool ones.

Someone once said "To have a good friend is one of the highest delights of life; to be a good friend is one of the noblest and most difficult undertakings." When you think on that I agree to some extent. I can see where at times it can be difficult because we tend to want back off when things get touchy. How many times did one of our friends say or do something we do not like and we just walk away saying thats the end of that friendship. To stick with it would be hard and how many people really would? I am fortunate I have some really nice friends so to that I say thank you friends.

Here are some pictures of some friends not all if I placed them all I am afraid I would miss someone so certainly not all. Plus I have made some recent nice Blog Friends. Life is good...

Make a Wish Wednesday

Jamie @ Starshyne Productions has prompted this weeks question of Wishcasting Wednesday.

What do you wish to say yes to?

Seems like a simple easy question right? I know I had to think of it and then I started to over think it. First I was yes to abundance. Yes to the nice things in life that make me happy. Is being happy wrong? Is abundance wrong? You see what I mean by over think? So my wish is to say yes to my Angels and their guidance. I now fully accept the wisdom, insight and protection of my angels.

So there you have it...

Happy Saint Patty's Day

Happy Saint Patrick's Day. Even if you do not celebrate I thought it would be nice to recognize the day. At work we all decided to come in green. Our boss's are treating us to Green Cookies and Green Beer (aka Ginger Ale). We have all decorate the department (as seen in some shots below). Then there was one person who did not wear any green and just sort of came and sat down at her desk. We went did you forget to wear Green for the party and she just looked at us and said "I do not celebrate any religious holiday." Ok I had to stop and think huh? A Holiday? I mean I know we celebrate it but is it really a religious holiday? So I let my fingers do the walking and here is what I learned.

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years.

On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

Today, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by people of all backgrounds in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Although North America is home to the largest productions, St. Patrick's Day has been celebrated in other locations far from Ireland, including Japan, Singapore, and Russia.
In modern-day Ireland, St. Patrick's Day has traditionally been a religious occasion. In fact, up until the 1970s, Irish laws mandated that pubs be closed on March 17. Beginning in 1995, however, the Irish government began a national campaign to use St. Patrick's Day as an opportunity to drive tourism and showcase Ireland to the rest of the world. Last year, close to one million people took part in Ireland 's St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin, a multi-day celebration featuring parades, concerts, outdoor theater productions, and fireworks shows.

So there you have it I learned something new yes its religious so you have to respect her for not participating. I wonder if that means she will not eat the cookies since after all she doesn't celebrate.

St Patty's Day Eve

Wow almost a whole week gone by and no blogging. I guess that is what happens when life gets in the way. I had a very Elk-ish weekend. I do try to limit my Elk duties to as little as possible but I guess as the soon to be President one can say "Yeah nice dream."

So now it is one day shy of St Patty's Day...we could all use some Irish Luck could we not? Of course we can.

An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

I hope you all have a fabulous week. I know it will be a busy one for me.

Wishcasting Wednesday

Wishcasting Wednesday is today and the question today is:

What do you wish to change?

Hum...another tough one. I guess currently if I was going to change something that would be my patience level. This week my patience level at work is being tested and it is over silly little things but when management takes the silly little things seriously and you voice your opinion on it and yours is discount well...ok patience Lola patience....

Ok so my wish is I wish to change and increase my patience level and be a little more tolerate of others and their wishes.

You know in saying/writing that I actually feel much better. Ok it will be a good day.

Another week

Time just flies when you are having fun doesn't it? Let's recap the closing of March 5th has yet to take place I am hoping soon very soon. Friday I went to Lake Mary Florida which is close to Orlando on an Elk duty trip. Yeah can you picture the excitement on my face? Friday was uneventful. Arrived had dinner and drinks with a few people and went to bed early (ah early morning like 1:00 AM). Saturday had the seminar that last all day and was as exciting as watching Moths mate. So Saturday is down one more session to go that is scheduled to start on Sunday at 7:30 AM! The end is around noon or 1:00 PM. Ok so now this means I need to check out of the room before the class begins since check out is 11:00 AM. Ok great this means super early get up time. So I decided no party for you little girl, go to the dinner and head to you room - which I did. I was in the room by 9:00PM. Next morning was great, I got up early checked out packed the car and went to the seminar. The class ended around noon and I get in my car and just as I enter the highway BOOM a flat!

Well needless to say I was not amused. But I have Triple A (www.aaa.com). We have the Plus we have learned for stuff like this always get the best. Ok I called them and within 20 minutes someone shows up in the tow truck. He was an interesting gentleman baring gifts ok one gift he brought a cold bottle water. Yeah I could not figure that one out either but it was actually nice of him to do that. Ok so here is this guy putting my little donut spare and I know that driving long distance with those tires are unsafe so I ask this guy Hey do you know where the nearest tire store is I am not from here and need to obviously get this fixed? His answer "well ah today is Sunday so everything is closed maybe Sears somewhere up the road." Ok thanks Triple A dude.

I opted to not ask him any more questions and thanked him for helping me out. I got off at the next exit and the angels were smiling because within a mile from the exit was a Tire Plus store that get this was OPEN on a Sunday! Go figure. Well I go in there and a real nice guy feels bad for me and tells me that yes they will get me a new tire of course they will. However my tire is not in stock at their store BUT they will go to another location and get it. Ok guy this is ok. The turnaround time oh about 3-4 hours! Yeah that is current this means my original 4 hour drive home will begin around 4 ish or later. I had a feeling from the beginning it was going to be later. Ok he was nice enough to tell me that I could leave the rim there and go somewhere and be comfortable and call or come by around 4. I thought about this and yeah that is a great idea. I am heading back to the hotel. I rather sit there in the lobby and play on my facebook then sit in a hot dirty tire store.

A few hours went by I went to the store eventually the tire arrived and I was on my way home! A little tired but arrived home safe. Monday was a no work day for me and it was a good thing I felt like the life was sucked out of me. Pretty much did nothing.

Now what will this weekend bring? Oh excitement get this another Elks things...a visitation at the Florida Keys lodge. This one on Sunday. Oh boy I can't wait.

Blessings

I am getting there on the whole asking for help. Good advice that from asking great things can happen. I tend to agree. Lets see how brave I can be to ask.....we shall see and keep you inform..

So as we get closer and closer to St Patrick's Day I thought it would be really nice to write about some of the special nice things the Irish say. Whether you are Irish or not the wishes and blessings are good and should be shared.

May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

May the light of heaven shine on your grave.

A Wish for a Friend
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

So stay well, healthy and and

Ask for help? Me? No way

Ok so today is Wishcasting Wednesday ~ March 4, 2009
posted by Jamie at Starshyne Productions

Wishing is what we have done all of our lives. As kids we wish for toys, clothings, trips to the beach, etc.... Somehow they come true. When they do not something comes in it's place that is different in it's own unique way and we end up learning from it.

So today's wish posting subject is What help do you wish to receive?

Ok this one is HARD for me. I happen to know one of my own weakness is asking for help. I hear it all the time at the Lodge ask for help ask for help ask for help. Well I really have a problem asking people to help because I feel I am imposing and part of me sees that if you see I need help why wait to be asked just volunteer and say I will help. Ok so what help do I wish to receive? I honestly have no idea. I guess that in itself is a cry for help. I want to be able to trust that help will come and that I will receive help and in those moments when I need it I wish to be able to say HELP! OK lame I know I will have to work on that. So what help do you wish to have?
