The List...

I know sorry it has been ages since my last post. I just find one thing after another to do. One good thing my spirit and I have been connecting more. So all is well. I recently ran across some inspirational quotes...did I say some I meant like 50 of them! So take your time get that second cup of tea or coffee and just think...and maybe try...

Ok now Circle three tips that you will focus on this week, and then consciously follow those tips for the next seven days. Let them become a habit in your life.

DE-CLUTTER YOUR ENVIRONMENT. PEACE IS NEVER FOUND IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS.
1. Simplify. Simplify. Simplify.
2. Get a place for everything, and put everything in its place.
3. Have backups: an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps in the car, whatever will lower your stress.
4. Surround yourself with what you love ... whether it's pets, plants, music, hobbies, or keepsakes. Make your home your refuge.
5. Enjoy the simple things.
6. Take one day at a time.
7. Slow down. You're never going to get it all done anyway.
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Spread big changes and difficult projects over time. Don't lump all the hard things together.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY. THERE'S NO PLACE ELSE TO LIVE.
10. Eat right.
11. Go to bed on time. Get enough rest.
12. Get up on time. Start your day with calmness.
13. Drive carefully. Cars aren't the only things that can be recalled by their maker.
14. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
15. Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

GUARD YOUR HEART. DON'T LET THE WORLD STEAL YOUR JOY.
16. Laugh. And then laugh some more -- even if you have to fake it til you make it.
17. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
18. Do something for the kid in you every day.
19. Smile. Peace starts with a smile.
20. Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
21. Do what is right. Forbidden fruits create jams.
22. Don't let your worries get the best of you. Remember, Moses started out as a basket case.
23. Let the tears come. Endure, grieve, and move on. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
24. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county or a foreign country ... but not to Guilt City.
25. Don't forget ... birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

WATCH YOUR MOUTH. THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH ARE FOUND IN THE TONGUE.
26. Talk less. Listen more.
27. Tell your loved ones ... that you love them ... at every opportunity.
28. Keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
29. Be kind to unkind people. They probably need it the most. And if you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
30. Don't put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
31. Practice KYMS (Keeping Your Mouth Shut). It will prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
32. Forgive. Most people are doing the best they can with what they have.

BUILD YOUR RELATIONSHIPS. THEY DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE.
33. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
34. Build memories. Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
35. Learn to get along ... just like crayons. Some are sharp. Some are pretty, and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors. But they all have to live in the same box.
36. Let go of grudges. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
37. Refrain from judgment. God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?
38. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

NURTURE YOUR SPIRIT. IT'S THE SOURCE OF HOPE.
39. Take time ... every day ... to be alone ... and relish the power of peace and quiet.
40. Listen to a motivational CD while you're driving ... a CD that will improve your quality of life.
41. Write down every great thought that comes to you. Chances are you won't remember them, and it may take you another 20 years to learn the lesson you just lost.
42. Keep a folder of your favorite sayings on hand.
43. Write down one thing you're grateful for. And then add one more thing to your list each and every day.
44. Make a list of what you want to do, have, experience, and witness before you die. It's a sure way to get a lot more of what you want in your life!
45. Strive for excellence. It is not necessary to be perfect. Excellence will do just fine!
46. Walk your talk. It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.
47. Remember, when you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.
48. Pray. Then take some time to listen. Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.
49. Don't put a question mark where God put a period.
50. Remember ... the Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Friday

Oh what a week. My return to the working world has been slow this week. I was scheduled to return to work on Tuesday but found myself returning on Wednesday because of some major food poisoning. Not sure where it came from a few thoughts in my head about something I ate on Sunday when I was home before going to bed. Needless to say week started with not being able to hold anything down and yes I mean not hold anything down for a total of 3 days. On day 3 I did hold stuff but lets just say the stomach was not 100% there. Here we are on Friday and while the stomach is better as of last night I cannot say it is 100% better. But I certainly like it better then the beginning of the week so I will take that and look at the glass as half full. Hopefully soon it will be back to normal.

In other news I have visited an Elks Lodge this week ..drum roll please....... once! BUT wait there is more! I suppose I cannot lie tonight I will be going there for Friday Night Dinner ( Possible Asian Fusion - the jury is not in yet ) so I suppose that makes going there twice. But I did go on Sunday so should I count that? Ok lets count that so that means as of Sunday and assuming I will be there tonight ...3 times... ok I was proud of myself until I did that count...

Oh good news Big Brother Season is back and in full force! The cliques are the themes and I so dislike cliques so it should perfect. Yeah there are a few HouseGuests I already have my doubts about ....oh but this is just the beginning.

Stay Tune..

Back!

Yee Pee! I am back. I have to say Portland was FABULOUS! OMG the people there are amazingly nice! I know I know you think ah yeah sure people are nice. Ok big city girl here you see the hustle and motions and people rarely look at each other in the face let alone just hello to a passing stranger. But Portland Oregon you did! I saw many random acts of kindness. In particular I saw something that well just made me smile and go AHHH. Picture this it is the early morning hours and I am outside the hotel and I see this guy riding on a bike with a yellow cape and a pig nose. Yes I am serious yellow cape, pig nose and riding a bike. Totally funny. The guy stops by me and asks if I wanted some Bacon. Ah Bacon? No thank you but I love the outfit guy! He smiles, saids thank you and rides off. Well on the same sidewalk there is a homeless man walking with his cart and this same biker stops at the homeless man and asks him if he wanted bacon. The guy looks at him and goes "Excuse me?" The guy goes I have some free cooked bacon would you like some and the guy goes "YES!" The guy gives him the bacon and off he rode. Ok hello how awesome was that and how awesome was it that I got to see it.
National Road Rage Survey Ranks Portland Most Courteous Courteous City in U.S. I totally believe it I saw it and experienced it. Very well deserverd and earned.
Ok so now some summary highlights. We ate our way through Portland. Yes we did but of all the places we went to eat (to be listed later) to me one of the coolest places was http://www.sportslook.com/ which is home to the Panookie! Oh HELLO What a sinful and fabulous dessert! From the menu the description started as

Panookie $6.95 Freshly baked 10 oz. cookie served warm and topped with three scoops of ice cream. Chocolate chip with vanilla bean or peanut butter with chocolate. Enough for 2, Please give us 15 minutes to prepare.

Ok so let me back the bus up a little how did we find this place. Ok I finished up meetings a bit earlier then I thought and I hooked up with my husband Paul. (Who was lucky enough not to have to go to all day meetings.) So we decided we would purchase a Max Rail all day ticket (a whooping $4.50) and just ride somewhere to have lunch. We were a little hungry but we thought lets just see where we end up. So we get on the train and we ride and ride and are seeing the sights and the hunger is increasing. We start to notice lots of fields and not a whole lot of places with restaurants. But this is ok we know how to get back and are into exploring. So just as we pull into this station in Hillsboro I look across and I see that restaurant pictured and under that it reads "Home of the Panookie." More importantly it read chicken ribs, wings, etc...ok hey food and by the station. Works for me! So we said yeah this is the place lets give it a shot and go there. Well I read that menu description and how can you not get hungry reading it. So I made sure to leave room for dessert we give the waitress the order for lunch and add the Panookie (allowing 15 minutes to cook). Well lunch was good, then came the panookie. Ok we have pictures of almost everything we ate on this trip we never took a picture of the panookie! I know I Know silly child. We cleaned that pan up! It was so good. Honestly can I make that at home? Yeah I could and I may one day but how awesome was the experience? Totally awesome.
Some of the other places we went to eat in the Portland area were:
Ringside Steakhouse, The Nines Urban Farmer, Rock Bottom, Buffalo Wild Wings, Southpark Seafood Grill, Karam Restaurant.
Yeah we ate our way through Portland and loved it all. Thank you Portland!

Vacay!

This will not be a long post. I leave Saturday and Friday will be as I predict a lazy day which means will not want to do anything until I go to the bash at the Lodge Friday Night! I know investment in traveling laptop or mini computer. I know I know it's coming the time is near.

Tonight I will be at oh lets see hum where....I know the Elks Lodge! Yes lets volunteer being a bartender until 9:00 PM and then sit back and enjoy the rest of the night. After all it's Open Mic Night which means a good amount of local musicians will be playing. And along the way hang out with some nice friends...

Is there any other way to start a vacation?

What to Nurture what to Nurture

Today is Wednesday and I like to participate in a little thing called Wishcasting Wednesday ~ July 1, 2009 posted by Jamie at Starshyne Productions

The questions are always challenging and make you sit back and think to yourself. So today's question is What do you Wish to Nurture?

Hum...So many things...But let's take a real deep look at what I would love to really nurture. The first thing that came to mind was my spirit. I do not think I nurture it like it deserves. The angels and spirits have guided me and held me together in so many ways. From the my childhood until now. Sometimes I get so involved in my everyday comings and goings that I tend to neglect the daily thank yous and reflections. For the most part I do but I need to be a little more focus on that. So let me nurture my spirit and let my wings expand.
Saturday I leave to Portland Oregon for a whole week for an Elks Convention at the Convention Center. The convention ends Thursday and we leave Saturday so we are going to have a day to pretty much see the sights and experience Oregon! I have never been there but everyone I talk to has nothing but fabulous things to say about it! No idea what to do or where to go and what to see but we plan on renting a car that day and just driving around. This will actually be a nice day to allow my spirit to fly and roam around a part of the country I have never been to but heard great things about.
So there you have it what will you allow yourself to nurture?
