Halloween! BOO!
Last night was rather nice and touching. The boys that were graduating were all great young men. These are men that were heading in the wrong direction, had they continued they would be another number in the jail system or worse. Instead, they did this program GOT IT and are on the right path. One of the requirements for graduating the program is to write and read a speech about your experience and what you have learned from it. Well it was touching one young man was nearly in tears. Here is a 17 year old who by looking at him physically you may run the other way and is there crying. Why? Well he realized what he put his mom through, he realized she was struggling herself and having to worry about him was not helping. He apologized to his mother and said he will never put her through that again. He had to stop a few times to catch himself from shedding more tears. It was truly nice to see.
Another young man also told his mom he was sorry and that he learned that he wanted to make a difference in the world and wanted to help people. One of the course they teach you in the program is CPR and this young man realized he wants to save lives. He said he wanted to finish school, go to college, medical school and become a doctor. He knew it would not be easy but he wanted to do this and one day he would buy his mom a house in the mountains so she can be happy and a way of saying thank you for standing by me and I am sorry for what I put you through.
What a truly magical night it was. 3 of the officers and 2 trustees were there and we all sat together and just smiled and thought yeah this is why we do what we do. It will be nice to sit with these same friends tonight, have a nice steak dinner, laugh, and talk.
Then after that get in the car head 5 miles down the road to yes another Elks Lodge. (no Elk lodges are not normally that close together especially in Miami but we are SPECIAL that way).
Miami Lodge 948 is having a Halloween Party and while I do not plan on dressing in costume there will be a few friends I enjoy spending time with. I know for the most part it will be a great laughing and smiling night and that is always good for the soul. But what has me intrigued is my Chonga friend Janis has told me she has a "prop" for me? Some sort of costume that I don't have to wear anything for? I don't know either she was rather mysterious so I SO looking forward to seeing what it is. She predicts I will like it. Hey anything for the cause!
Ok here is normally where I write a short little quote but today is not a normal day is it?
Here for Halloweeen Day/Night is a short story..
Finally Healed
By Allison Greene, published Oct 30, 2008
Susan walked down the road in soft silence, a blank stare piercing the darkness before her. She told nobody to smile, because it would keep them healthy and strong. Nobody answered back, why thank you, I will, and Susan felt the emptiness of the world around her begin to thicken, cutting off her last hope for happiness. Susan felt her body pause, testing the darkness for light.
There was none. Susan continued to walk down the street in the thin, pale green gown with which she was coerced to grace her body. The gown reached only to her knees, which was torture to the false princess's modest consciousness. Susan watched her feet step over hard, rocky asphalt as she crossed the intersection to the other corner. She watched her soles bruise and callous from the unyielding stress put upon them. Susan felt her link to reality slip away and knew that nothing could ever retrieve it. Susan's will to live vanished, so she knelt. Her legs were very cold, but Susan no longer cared about physical discomfort. Her body was not worth saving. Susan looked down at her pale hands as they melted. She almost screamed, but it did not hurt. That is, it hurt quite much, but she liked it. Susan knew in her heart, what was left of it, that she was dying. Susan felt a small pain, but it failed to make an idea in her mind to stop letting go. Susan looked up in a last burst of curiosity just before she completely relaxed in death, and she blinked. That was not supposed to be there.
Above her, Susan was met with the image of a young man with sad, gentle eyes. She stared at him for a long time. The man was so sad, but he seemed to be urging her to keep fighting. Susan thought to herself that the man asked something impossible. She knew she was too far gone.
Nevertheless, the man's glow of liberation was alluring. Susan looked at him again for a time, knowing she could never be a part of the splendor he represented. The man's face turned to anguish, and blood flowed from his scalp. His wrists exploded, and his ankles, spraying warm blood over Susan's face. A growing bloodstain marred the man's robes at his chest, and a dark red puddle grew steadily at the man's feet. Susan felt the man's torment and wept, but still refused to get up. The man's agony continued, and his breathing became labored as he progressed toward death.
Susan watched as the shadow of a soldier pointed and laughed, proudly displaying the weapons that produced the man's injuries. It looked like a spear and a hammer. As the soldier grew more visible, Susan saw that it was female, and she thought she recognized her. As Susan stared, her heart leapt into her throat: the soldier was Susan, and she was jeering and taunting the man who, without her realizing it, had outstretched his arms, and was shirtless. At last, Susan realized what was going on.
Susan awoke in the hospital an instant later, knowing she had just met the only one who could save her life. She cried loudly, begging the air for forgiveness. The dream had put a bright fire in Susan's heart, and she knew, deep within, that she was finally healed.
And now my friends Have a great Halloween and

Ghost busters!
Experts used state-of-the-art audio monitors, temperature gauges and still photography overnight Thursday, in search of paranormal activity.
Experts believe the ghostly presence may be from a maintenance worker who had his ashes spread throughout the hall.
The building is set to be demolished to make way for a new city hall and police station.
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.

The Votes are in!
So next week for the show Edyta will be filling in for Julianne while Julianne recovers from her surgery. The couples will compete in a team competition (3 couples per team) for the judge’s scores and your votes. That should make for an interesting evening.
So stay tune..
The pretty weather continues but today will be the last day. This morning was a very chilling 56! Oh yeah it was pretty darn cold and I love every minute of it! The sad news is that by tomorrow we will be back in the 80's.
But you know that is the price we pay for living in Paradise.

Totally Tuesday
Now DWTS last night was pretty cool. I am ready to bounce Bruno on the head how dare he put down my Susan Lucci! But one thing all 3 judges did was really give negative feedback to Cloris Leachman. They also gave her the lowest score I have ever seen a total of 15. I think they did it mainly so to get her out, even though its the votes that count but the votes are added to the judges to total. So I guess they figure lets make it low. Carrie Ann told Cloris that she was starting to act childish and it was sad that someone like Toni Braxton was eliminated because of it. Well in part I agree I just think it was too harsh to give to her after all its the voters that are keeping her in. With that in mind DON'T VOTE FOR CLORIS LEACHMAN!
In other DWTS news: Two-time Dancing With the Stars champ Julianne Hough is undergoing minor surgery this week to remove her appendix, she revealed on her Web site Monday. Hough, 20, suffers from endometriosis, a painful condition caused by the growth of the tissue lining the uterus in other parts of the abdomen outside of the uterus. It is found in 5-10 percent of women of reproductive age around the world. Hough was first hospitalized at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week after experiencing mild stomach pains. After consulting with her doctor, surgery was recommended, she said on her site. For the next week Cody will have a replacement dancer.
So will he still be able to stay on top of the Leader Board? Stay tune..
The week is looking fairly good. This Thursday I have a special program dinner at my Elks Lodge. It's for The Gate Program which is a program started by this angel of mercy Mimi Sutherland for non-violent first time juvenile offenders. The boys in this program are between 12-17 and what they learn is what will be the result of their life if they continue on the path they are in. I am talking about everything from visiting prisons to going to the morgue and seeing an autopsy to talking to visiting senior living facilities. The counselors and teachers are caring and loving. Once the kids go through the program the Lodge gives them and their families a Graduation Dinner. What they have done is now in the past, and, now, its up to them what their futures hold. Some of the peer counselors were in the program at one time and learned so much for the experience that they stayed to teach and guide others. So this Thursday night will be a nice night of celebration.
This Friday I am scheduled to attend not one but 2 Elks lodges. First I will be going to my lodge for Friday Night dinner. I must keep this alive since the 12 of us that go really like each other. Then I am meeting my Chonga and her Mr Wonderful at their Elks Lodge for a Halloween party. And No I am not dressing up I am scary enough as it is.
Oh but wait there is MORE Elk visits! Saturday Night going over to Miami Elks Lodge for their annual Charity Ball. So lets recap: Thursday Elks Lodge, Friday Two Elk Lodges, Saturday Elk Lodge. You think I will be all Elked out by the end of the weekend? I think I will be too.

Welcome to the Fall - Miami Style
Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. North winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight
Mostly ClearLo: 60°
Mostly clear. Breezy...Cooler. Lows near 60. North winds 10 to 15 mph becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph after midnight.
What great news! It is going to get cooler! Currently this morning the wind was blowing slightly and one could sense the change in the air. I looked at the trees and said well hello Mother Nature! Gotta love it!
If you have not done so already remember to vote. On October 20th early voting began and it is a success, I know because the lines are long and people seem to not be minding to wait in it. I for one am not a long line person so I may wait until voting day and be at the station right at 7:00 am like I did last time. That seemed to work out the best in the past. However I may check when leaving work to see what the wait time is if its not too bad I may take a stab at it. The important thing is to get out there and vote. What a great country we live in where our votes count.
Ok this annoucement was paid for by ME.

It's a Funny World
Oh Friday thank you for finally arriving! Last night was Grey's Anatomy and I must be getting old(er) because I fell asleep in the middle of it so I never got to see the ending arggg.
Tonight is Friday night dinner at the my Elks Lodge. It's Lasagna and good friends. I enjoy going there mainly for the friends more then the food. I expect the usual suspects and I surely hope so or else will I will be disappointed.
Now I read something interesting this morning and I just thought to myself OMG what is this world turning into? Here let me post the story:
Online divorcee jailed after killing virtual hubby
By MARI YAMAGUCHI, Associated Press
TOKYO: A 43-year-old Japanese woman whose sudden divorce in a virtual game world made her so angry that she killed her online husband's digital persona has been arrested on suspicion of hacking, police said Thursday.
The woman, who is jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his identification and password to log onto popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in mid-May, a police official in northern Sapporo said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy.
"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations.
The woman had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.
She has not yet been formally charged, but if convicted could face a prison term of up to five years or a fine up to $5,000.
Players in "Maple Story" raise and manipulate digital images called "avatars" that represent themselves, while engaging in relationships, social activities and fighting against monsters and other obstacles.
The woman used login information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married, and killed the character. The man complained to police when he discovered that his beloved online avatar was dead.
Ok is that not just silly or what? I know I know some logic minded people out there will say its not that she killed the avatar its that she hacked into the computer. Come on all she did was kill his silly character couldn't he oh I don't know create another one and move on? Personally she should of waited until they were in the game together and then pushed him off his pedestal. But come on a game? You killed my made up character so you are going to jail. That's like creating an imaginary friend and then someone comes and kills it. OK yes I know over the top.
Ok I just thought I would share that humours story.
So what will this weekend bring? I don't know either but

Hump Day
Ok on to other news - Dancing With the Stars!
Well after much dancing and singing they finally revealed who was leaving - Toni Braxton has left the building. She actually was getting much better and I think she could of been one of the finalist had she stayed. Cloris Leachman lives another day! Do not get me wrong I like the woman she is funny but I am sorry Toni was much better in dancing then she was. But what do we learn from this? We learn viewers like voters make all the difference! It's the votes that are keeping Cloris in this competition and now she has crossed over the half way mark and is going into the final rounds.
Susan Luccie was in the bottom two and I am so happy she survived! She has got to outlast Cloris is all I say! Erica Kane must rule! Speaking of Erica Kane All My Children was just so freaking good yesterday! Babe should die any day now and of course in typical soap form Daddy dearest David will walk in and find her dead and vow revenge! One must be afraid because David is a mean nasty. But we have Jessie Hubbard in the city now so beware David. But of course Jessie has his own drama to deal with like how to explain to his wife that he has a daughter nearly 20 years old. Ok hello Jessie is this what you did for all those years while you were on the run pretending to be dead? Ah Yeah. Meanwhile Kendall is in the operating room after the tornado made a house fall on her and oh NO wait another tornado this time it rips thru the hospital while Jake the surgeon is operating on her! Ok he is a good surgeon he threw his body over Kendall's and the hospital lost power. Ok what to do in the middle of an operation no power, logic tells you to close up and recoop. Nope this is Super Surgeon Jake he will operate on Kendall in the dark. I wonder if thats why Kendall will end up in a coma - ah you think?

Lessons Learned
We can only imagine what it must be like to see God’s face--to accurately perceive His beauty, His incredible power, His holiness, His love, and His majesty...angels continually enjoy this face-to-face communion with God. Maybe that’s why they make such great guardians.

Monday Brings more Water!
The Moon enters feisty Aries at 3:05 am EDT, reminding us that we needn't express everything that we feel. Our reactions to circumstances are swift, yet mature judgment can make the difference between what we say and what we don't. Additionally, an anxious semisquare between logical Mercury and alluring Venus can cloud our decisions by encouraging us to over-personalize what's happening. We are best served by aiming for objectivity in all that we do.
- Make sure you are in a place where you will be undisturbed.
If possible, raise the energy with flowers, a candle, appropriate music if you like it and beautiful objects or books. - Sit or lie with your back straight.
- Ground yourself by imagining roots reaching down from your feet into the Earth.
- Relax and let go of the outside world. Focus on your breathing and when you feel comfortable, stroke your body with your breath from your head down, Imagine each breath is making you feel more relaxed and peaceful.
- Be aware of your spine and notice from which part your wings unfurl.
- Let your wings spread out fully. Sense their size, shape, texture and color
Gently and slowly imagine yourself moving your wings until you can flap them easily.
Ask your angels to hold your hands and help you to fly out into the sky. Enjoy flying with their support. - When you are ready, let go of their hands and fly through the stars. Experience the joy and freedom of your angelic self.
- Drop golden angel dust on people and places who need it.
- Return to your body and sit quietly for a few moments.
- Feel your feet on the Earth and make sure you are grounded.
- Stretch and open your eyes.
- Congratulate yourself on receiving your angel wings.
If you can imagine then it is possible. So imagine it - whats the harm?

Sunday Sunday
Desperate Housewives is tonight and I for one cannot wait to see what Edi's new husband is going to do. He is a sneaky one gotta love those. I am still hoping Carlos gets his sight back he just has to. I bet the day he does he will catch Gaby in a compromising position like trying to make their daughter exercise or eat a salad instead of Nachos with extra cheese.
DWTS is tomorrow and I hope to see it but honestly I am just not sure if I will be at the Lodge doing last minute prep work. At the same time Hereos is getting really good!
OMG did anyone see Grey's Anatomy? Can anyone explain to me the reason George is still on the show? I just do not see the need for him he tends to bore me a little. But I still love the show...
Water week is going good. Lots of water entries and emotions and yes this is all part of the process. I am liking how I am reacting to stress really good. Must continue on the path. I may do this all over again. I just need to make a spirit stick ...I was never one of those crafty people so this task will take a while and from what I read that is ok.
Ok thats about it for Sunday

I love Fridays
The water week continues and yesterday there was plenty of water in Miami. Thank you Goddess of water for cleaning everything out and leaving room for sunshine and clearness.
I am continuing to think positive thoughts and know that things are happening for a reason and all will be fine. The weekend is looking to be peaceful and restful - yeah right! Thats about all I have for today or now anyway.

Happy Thursday!
You know the economy sucks doesn't it? Yeah even in Florida. This morning I was reading how California is hurting and the Governator is ready to ask the Federal Government for mo money in order to save the State. Well California is not the only one hurting:
FloridaBudget gap (as a % of the total budget): 19.9%Gap: $5.1 billion
The Florida housing slump is one of the worst in the nation and only appears to be getting worse. The $66 billion Florida budget for the coming year is about $6 billion less than the one approved the previous year. It includes a $332 million reduction in public school spending and cuts to state hospitals, nursing homes, and various social programs.
I can tell you schools are hurting here locally. There have been a ton of great school programs that have been cut due to "budget" cut backs. I work in a place where we have our own public school on the company grounds and they too have been hurt. Teachers have lost their jobs and classes combined because there is no money to pay for 2 teachers, so, instead they want to combine students into one class and yeah so what if its a little crowded. Those little kids won't mind. Gotta love it huh?
Daily Horoscope forAll Zodiac Signs
Thursday, Oct 9th, 2008 -- The intelligent Aquarius Moon is strengthened today by trines to mental Mercury and the Sun. But passions run deep because the Sun forms a magical quintile with powerful Pluto, enabling us to transform the mysteries of the unknown into creations of beauty. Additionally, sweet Venus moves toward a harmonious trine with eccentric Uranus, encouraging us to set traditional desires aside as we move toward more unconventional expressions of love.
Tonight is Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty, if you have not seen either you should it is a hoot. One is kind of silly funny and the other makes you say to yourself "Let's hope they really are not doing that in real life."
The quest on Soul Coaching continues....all is going well. So far I am very happy to have begun this book. I think I need to do some wish casting and if anyone cares to join me please do so I need all the help I can get.... Please someone buy my mom's house before we lose the house! Taxes are (including now tacked in additional property taxes) are due in a month and I have no idea how we will pay them! Ok so my wish casting is for someone to come in and save the day and buy the house. Please wish for me.... Hey if you don't ask you don't receive right?
I know what you are now thinking....hello what's the weather like in sunny Florida? Oh glad you ask. Actually it's pretty "ironic" that the 2nd phase in Soul Coaching is dedicated to water because this morning I woke up to a nice set of showers. The streets are wet and clear of debris and the day is ready for a fresh new start.

The weekend is almost here! The Charity Ball I am planning for the Elks Lodge will take place on October 18th which means right now I am on "whatever happens happens I did the best I can do." I decided that I am going to continue to look at the glass as half full. Will everything go perfect? No it will not and you know what - so what. Will there be error-free stuff guess what no there will not be and again - so what. The few of us at the Lodge that have worked on this all feel we did the best we can and with no fighting and bickering. We will leave that for the After-Party! I am thinking that after the party of having a Wii Bowling mini-tournament! Yeah it's the simple things in life that make me happy.

Hump Day
Misty May-Treanor has had to drop out due to injury, so the remaining stars get a one-week reprieve. Rocco can thank his lucky Garlic for that because otherwise he would of been the one to go home. So butch up Rocco! The judges' scores and votes from this week will be rolled over into next week, so the Rocco will have a huge hill to climb.
Well the first week of Soul Coaching has been completed! Lots of decluttering and mental clearing too. The air above me is clean and fresh and ready for week two which is water. Can't wait!
The week ahead is a fairly uneventful one. Child of mine is having tooth implant procedure done on Friday. As he puts its he will finally get his smile back. Saturday and Sunday appear to be lazy days in....remember what happened the last time I said that....lets hope its not a repeat offender. But not surprised if it would be.
Desperate Housewives is looking really good. They have this new character who looks very evil. Just not a nice guy he took a kitty cat from this old lady in order to get her to apologize to Edi. Now what kind of monster would take a innocent kitty? BTW the cat looked so much like my Paradise so you know I was like a Momma Bear growling at the dude.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Ok so last night was Dancing With the Stars and the curse of who will drop out continues. No a star was not eliminated because he or she got low scores instead it was due to no fault of their own. Brooke Burke confirmed Monday that injured Misty May-Treanor will be sitting out for good. She hurt her Achilles tendon and was in a cast. She will be having surgery to fix this so of course this means she is out for a very long time. This is sad because this girl looked good. Now who is still dancing Cloris Leachman. Yeah I know there is always one that seems to skate through and makes you go HUH? It's the funny factor folks she is funny but now it's getting to the point where come on let the ones who are really trying to dance dance.
So now a little about some of the remaining dancers and how they did. Read about Susan made me (OH NO!)
BROOKE BURKE & DEREK HOUGH - Viennese Waltz
Brooke and Derek will stay on top of the leaderboard this week; the judges loved their waltz.Carrie Ann hands out a 9. Len gives them a 10! Unbelievable! Bruno gives them a 9. 28 out of 30 - incredible score. That was the first 10 of the season, and I can't remember the last time Len awarded a 10 to a couple.
WARREN SAPP & KYM JOHNSON - Viennese Waltz
Warren and Kym waltz out on to the floor in pink outfits. They're doing a really romantic, smooth, contemporary waltz. Warren is awesome, there is apparently no dance he can't master. He's so light on his feet and really just glides across the floor.Bruno exults, "Big, smooth, and BEAUTIFUL!" Carrie Ann was blown away and has a bit of a crush on Warren and calls it "mind blowing." Len didn't have high expectations, but thought it was really well done. Warren is a big hit with the judges and the crowd. The judges scores: Carrie Ann gives them a 9! Len and Bruno give them 8s. 25 out of 30.
SUSAN LUCCI & TONY DOVOLANI - Jive
Susan looks super-cute in her polka dot dress. They kick off into a kicky, energetic jive to "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" Her ankle is bandaged, and Susan does look a little heistant, but the choreography is great and overall it's strong. Len liked it, they're staying consistent from week to week. Bruno is getting distracted by Susan's neckline, but thought they are heading in the right direction. Carrie Ann thought Susan seemed a little bashful. Straight sevens across the board - Susan and Tony score 21 out of 30.
There you have it. Susan was hurt in practice but thankfully lived to dance.
Well Stay tune my friends...Life is still going on strong
It is easy to read about or to talk about love, charity and faith. But to do it, to feel it, almost requires an altered state of consciousness.
